Does your belly ever get back to normal?

My twins are a little over 2 months old now and I love them to death but I fear that my belly will never be the same. I have stretch marks on either side, the top of my belly is dimply like orange peel, and my belly button is all distorted. Will it ever look better again? I would never change anything about the arrival of my twins and if my belly bears the scars of their arrival forever I will be fine with it but I'm just curious if thing will ever tighten up.

Mine has gotten better, but not great, I still have all the stretch marks and unless I suck my gut in it still looks a little like a deflated balloon. Sorry.

My stomach is back to normal...as far as flatness goes and size. actually I think it is smaller then pre-pregnancy. BUT....I will NEVER, EVER wear a bikini again...NEVER!!! The skin and stratch marks are icky and though it's back to 'normal' size wise, it's very jiggly and jello-y. Unless I get a tummy tuck or something....I'll never be seen in a bikini in publis again :(
In fact, I just went through my swim suit drawer and am giving away all 10 of my bikinis.....boo hoo.

I'm sooooo gonna go for a tummy tuck or laser surgery in a few years, LOL!!! My tummy was OK after 4 kiddos, but after TWINS? Uhh, I don't think so! LOL!

Our boys are almost 5 months old and my stomach is back to normal now. No stretch marks, thanks to Bio Oil, which is also great for old stretchmarks, too. I do 45 minutes on the treadmill 4-5 days a week, lift weights, and do ab exercises to tighten my muscles back up. It is possible to get your stomach flat again, it just takes dedication. Luckily, my husband is a huge help. He watches the boys so I can do my workouts. I thought my stomach would never be back to normal, but it is fine now. I can even wear last year's bikinis. Just hang in there, you can do it!

mine never did. I lost more weight than I put on and went the gym consistenty for 2 years and it didn't improve for me.

Mine is mostly back to normal as well. I have a few stretchmarks, and my belly piercing looks a little weird, but overall everything is pretty much back to normal. Lots of ab workouts, just like before I was pregnant, and staying physcially active as much as possible. It doesn't look just like it did before I got pregnant. It looks better in some ways, worse in others!

I did wear a bikini a couple of weekends ago and I was a little self-conscious, but I will get over that eventually.

Yep. I took my shirt off in front of my husband for the FIRST time since the boys' arrival and it was as dark as death in there. I asked him what he would prefer to see-a rounded, 12-week-pregnant belly with semi normal looking skin, or a pretty flat belly with 90 year-old-woman skin. I can produce both.

over a year later- still not normal. My innie is STILL a disfigured outie (THAT'S what I'm most upset about!) and the skin is just a little more doughy and will hang over my waistband when I bend over or am sitting. But it definitely looks better than it did say, 6 months ago! So maybe I still have hope.... (but I'm not holding my breath!)

Mine is really not pretty. But then, it wasn't all that great pre-pregnancy, LOL. But the extra doughy, wrinkly skin is just ICK.

To be fair, I don't work out or watch what I eat at all -- gotta get on that!

Mine is "back to normal" in size but it does look like a deflated balloon. Its all wrinkly with a few stretch marks. its really jiggly...

My twins are 2.5 and my belly is not normal, and never will be. I'm at my pre-pg weight, but have terrible twin skin, stretch marks, abdominal separation, and a freaky bellybutton.

Mine is flat again and I am back to pre-preg weight but it looks like a deflated baloon as pp stated...I will say this, it has improved since I started working out again, I think it may eventually go away if I keep at it. My belly button on the other hand looks so deformed...I dont know how you can get that to go back to the way it was....so weird!
Give it time, I think your skin just needs a lot longer after twins to recover since it got stretched to the max!

I am right where you are at... waiting for the deflate back to normalcy. I thought I had no stretch marks but now that I can see partly deflated stomach I have a small one below… I swear it was not there a couple of weeks ago but last night I was like WTF is that… first time I guess I looked in the mirror. Oh well ca la vie when will I ever have time to do anything that it would matter anyways…

Mine is looking pretty good. Like the other post said, it will never be the same, but it's close! It's pretty flat but the skin on it is pretty squishy.

I only got a couple of tiny stretch marks and Strivectin has done wonders - they have almost completely disappeared.

Mine is actually flatter and less pudgy then after I had my older DS....and above my bellybutton my stomach looks great.....but below my bellybutton I have tons of stretchmarks and loose skin. It reminds me of pizza dough, and if I push the skin together it looks so nasty. I know that without a tummy tuck I'm stuck with it....so lets just say no bikinis for me anymore!

Mine did not either and I am a skinny person. My belly is relatively flat and no stretch marks but my belly botton looks weird, I also have muscle seperation and it is a bit wrinkly around the navel. I will never wear a bikini again either :( but there are many cute bathingsuits out there that cover the middle of your abdomen but leave the back/sides out that is the closest I will get to a bikini.

I know some people will tell you that if you work out your abs..then it will go back....But that's not true, if your muscles were stretched so much that they tore...all the sit ups in the world would not get your stomach back to normal!!! My stomach muscles were torn in two. My son was the one who did the most to my stomach..he was 10 pounds...he came before the twins...so they didn't do much damange....since it was already done!!! My stomach looked horrible....I would not show it to anyone...I got to a point that I wouldn't even look in the mirror...But it was all worth it!!! I did end up having a tummy tuck last May...almost a year after my twins were born. My stomach still has stretch marks..but all the lose skin that I had..is GONE!! My ab muscles are nice and tight!!!!! If it is bothering you that much...consider having a tummy tuck....it is the worst pain you will ever feel...but soooo worth it!

I was lucky and didn't get any stretch marks. But my belly (below the belly button) still looks like that droopy balloon. But I have to say that it just isn't a priority for me right now. I haven't even attempted to do anything about it - luckily my husband loves me the way I am!

That's the funniest thing I've heard in quite a while. It's so true -- although for me when my belly is round it looks more like 5 months pregnant with twins, and when it is sucked in, it isn't ever quite flat. I guess if I exercised....

I needed to hear this!!! Because that's where I was with my daughter, BUT I'm worried since I had twins that it will
be harder or different. I hope I'm you soon! :)

My belly looks basically back to normal (I can fit into my pre preggo pants). I don't have any stretch marks but the skin overall feels flabbier than it did. My belly button does look a little distorted (especially where my piercing was)

I think everyone is different. Some words of encouragement: though it may not return to completely normal it does get better over time. These were my first and I had a very flat stomach prior to having them so I was really bummed out after a few months when my belly looked like a wrinkled mess I had what I thought were stretch marks that ended up fading to slightly loose skin. My belly was really dimply and wrinkled for the first 6 months after I had them but now at almost a year is starting to look much better!! I acutally see a light at the end of the tunnel, I can finally see that with a little work it will probably look ok. I think my skin may always be a little different but it won't be gross anymore. Hang in there it'll get better :)
