does maternal weight/height have any effect on birth weights?

last ultrasound, 4 days ago, my babies were 5 lbs 6 oz, and 5 lbs 14 oz. i was 35 weeks.
prepregnancy, i am around 118 lbs and 5'3''

my previous 2 kids were: 6 lbs 14 oz and 7 lbs 3 oz.

aren't these twins getting close to being "done", or does the above information really have NOTHING to do with it all?
i was just hoping that when they weighed around 5 and a half to 6 pounds, they might be done cooking, but apparently not.

Ultrasound showed Isabel(Baby A) was 6 pounds at 32.5 weeks, and Sebastian(Baby B) was 5 pounds 1 ounce. They were born at 35.2 weeks and Isabel was 6 pounds, and Sebastian was 6 pounds 1 ounce. I think the ultrasound had to be off. I'm not sure if your height/weight makes a difference. Hopefully your little ones will be here soon.

As far as what I've seen, bigger woman tend to have bigger babies, and smaller women smaller babies. Probably because of genes. (Smaller babies growing up to be smaller people, etc.) Who knows though, you could be closer to delivering your babies than you think. They sound like they're nice weights for 35 wks. Good healthy eating! :D

As a completely unscientific data point, I am 5'4" and ~130 pre-pregnancy, and my babies were born at just under 37 weeks at 6 lbs each. It sounds like yours are nice and big, but I don't know if the size of the babies has anything to do with when labor actually starts. Anyway, I can totally understand wanting to be done (I would probably have performed a c-section on myself at that point, if I had the technology), but even after 35 weeks, every extra day that they stay inside you makes them less likely to have problems at birth. I hated the last few weeks of pregnancy but was very glad that my girls didn't need any NICU time and came home with me.

FWIW- I am 5' 3" and 110lbs prepreg. My girls were 2 months early and 3.8 & 3.14 but very LONG. They were guessing they would have been 6-7 lbs if I went full term....they are still tall for their age, but skinny!

My PERI said maternal height/weight played into it- but only slightly. She has seen preemies & small babies from tall women and HUGE babies from small women!

weight has nothing to do w/ being done.
    Weight doesn't = maturity.

I was about 125lbs pre-pregnancy and delivered a 6.9 and 6.11 twins on the last day of my 37th week.

My nurse giving me my NSTs told me she hers a LOT of Mom's complaining and ready to deliver at 35 weeks or so and it frustrates her because they don't undersanad that because THEY may be ready doesn't mean the baby{ies} is!

I am 5'9" and 153lbs, so not over, nor underweight. My oldest was 9lbs2oz and almost 22", my twins had a combined weight of 15 1/2lbs and were both 20". I tend to think I make larger babies than average and carry fairly long, and maybe I am a little above average (at least height wise).

Your BIRTH weight and your husband's BIRTH weight determine your children's birth weight more than your size now. My sister is 5 ft 2 in and about 100 lbs prepregnancy. She had 4 kids, her smallest weighed 10 lbs 9 oz and her biggest was 12 lbs 2 oz. All vaginally, no complications. She (my sister) weighed almost 10 lbs at birth. My mom weighed 10 lbs at birth, her smallest baby was 8 lbs 4 oz and her biggest baby was 11 lbs 4 oz (me). We have huge babies in my family. Good luck!

They sound like a nice size but also be aware that u/s measurements/weights can be off too (smaller or bigger). The morning I delivered, they estimated. by u/s, baby A being 5lbs 3 oz and baby B 4lbs 14oz...they were born later that afternoon at 5lbs 14oz each and 19.25 inches and 19.5 inches. So mine were off by almost a lb. They'll be ready when they're ready.

    Hang in there!

ETA...my water broke at 36 weeks.
