If you did start getting them, when did you start and how often?

I didn't have any until my BP went up. But I didn't switch docs until really late.

I think it really depends on the doctor. I had them starting around 28 weeks. At first once a week, then 2ce a week from 33-35 wks.

It depends on the doctor and other risk factors. Age, blood pressure, previous pregs., all that goes into it. Normally, they will start you at about 30 - 32 weeks if they want you to go, or whenever the risk factor presents itself. I was high risk due to "advanced maternal age" (ok, so I was old) and started at 30 weeks to try and catch any signs of labor.

I just had my first one today and won't have another until next week, and will deliver the week after, so I guess it depends on your doctor.

I had my first one at 35 weeks 5 days. My water broke that afternoon so that was the only one I ever had!

I've never had any, and unless there are any problems or signs of PTL, I'm not sure if I will. I see a peri for all of my appointments, so I definitely trust their judgement.....

I just started my weekly NSTs at 32 weeks and they have been doing the BPP every 2 weeks since about 26 wks b/c that is when my BH started to kick in.

My OB said that they do them with twins starting at 35 weeks (unless there is a problem earlier) and they do them weekly from there... I see a new OB tomorrow though so I am not usre their protocol

I started getting right after I got put on bedrest at 27wks. I get one at my weekly appt and sometimes on my bad days she has me come in just for that.

My OB decided not to do mine. The babies have been doing well on ultrasound and i am not high risk, so he felt it might be a waste of time. I go to doctor's appointments every week that include a full ultrasound. He may change his mind, but for now that is the call and I am not too far away from delivery. He thinks I will deliver around 36 weeks and I will be 35 weeks tomorrow.

I agree that it depends on the doctor. I started getting mine when I was around 28 weeks once a week. Then when I was 32 weeks, twice a week or have a BPP (BioPhysical Profile) on each baby! Take a book, it can take awhile.
