Does anyone use a front carrier?

I was wondering if anyone actually used a front carrier.
I was looking at the Ergo and the Beco and have decided that I prefer the Beco (butterfly II).
Obviously I won't be able to carry 2 at once but am thinking that if one baby is fussy or need more giggling then I can carry him/her around while I do stuff in the house. then, once the weather is better, my DH can get another carrier and we can carry one each for walks and outings. I will also get one bouncer chair and then they can alternate - or if its a hit I can get another one.
what I want to avoid is getting 2 carriers and 2 bouncers and then not using them.
    any advice?

We use slings. I've always been against having a stroller and will be so sad when they outgrow the slings. hopefully they will be walking by then.
we got them from the market near our house, a woman makes them in all different colours and patterns :)

I've never heard of a Beco, so I looked it up. The only thing about it that I think would bother me are those skinny straps that go under mom's arms. They look uncomfortable. Is there someplace you can try one on before purchasing it? I would recommend that. I had a mei tai, which was comfortable, but I didn't use it all that much.

Hmmm, i have like three different front carriers, and use them all regularly. I love the MOBY wrap because you can put the baby in so many different positions, based on what they are needing at that time. My twin daughter passes out within about fifteen minutes of being in the wrap, so it totally helps on times when she just won't calm down and sleep. My son, prefers the front carriers like the Ergo or Bjorn.

We had a baby bjorn. DH loved it for when he was trying to do something and one was fussy. He used it more than I did.

I have a hotsling which I love. I use it when more around the house because it helps them sleep. It can only fit 1 baby (2 when they were 5-6lbs). We also have two Bjorns which are fun for going out. However, when the babies were really small (under 10lbs), they didn't fit right and seemed very uncomfortable. I would suggest some sort of sling/wrap for when the babies are smaller (this could be the first 2-3 months so it is worth the investment) and a front carrier for when they are bigger. You can use the sling/wrap as a front and side carrier but the carriers like the bjorn/ergo seem more sturdy for that purpose (IMO).

We love our carriers. I will admit I prefer the Bjorn over the Snuggli. I like how easy the Bjorn goes on. But the boys love it and when we are out we bring both carriers and that way DH can carry one and I can too. Actually we keep them in the van with the stroller. We love our double stroller too.

I think you could easily use 2 carriers and 2 bouncers, especially the bouncers! We have 2 infant-to-toddler rockers (which are similar to a bouncer) and we have one bouncer seat. And I'm considering getting a second bouncy seat so I don't have to drag the one all over the place! We like to have those rockers/bouncy all throughout the house. But I understand if space is a concern.

As for a front carrier, I had never heard of the Beco. When I need a carrier though I always go for the Ergo (we have several Bjorns, which are ok, but the Ergo seems more comfy for my LOs). Though right now while they are small I usually go for my handmade moby wrap over the Ergo, because that seems to mimick the feel of me actually holding them against my chest moreso than the Ergo. Whichever LO I currently have in the moby wrap usually falls asleep within minutes. The only downside to both the Moby and the Ergo is that it is really hard to pick up the second baby if they start fussing, and there is no way to comfortably carry the second baby. If I have too while i have a baby strapped on me and the other is fussy I can pick baby #2 up out of the crib and carry him the short distance to the couch or a bouncy seat, but that's about it.

I have seen the beco and they are very nice. I used a moby wrap and a mei tai carrier. I loved the mei tai carrier because it was quick and easy. They are both cheaper than the beco. I would definatly find them in a store and try them on before you buy one. I didn't use mine alot but it was nice to have. I only had one bouncy chair and it worked fine because I would just rotate the boys between bouncy chair-jumperoo-swing-superseat. Hope whichever you decide to get works out well for you

we used the baby bjorns, i thought i would like the front carriers, but i didnt, we only used them when we went out to family gatherings or friends house, so we had our hands free, the baby's did well in them....they liked being close to mom and dad....we also had bouncers, which i absolutely loved...they were entertaining for the boys and the boys loved them as well, we have since gotten rid of the bouncers as they've out grown them but still have the baby bjorn's which i will be getting rid of some day, we no longer use them. Never liked the slings, just wasnt me.

I have a Beco Butterfly II and love it!! It is great for when you have one fussy baby and still need to use your hands. They fall asleep in it within minutes. I am thinking about getting a second (or an ergo) for my husband for when we go places that the double stroller would be hard to maneuver.

We have a beco here too (a few of them actually) and love them. The Butterfly II come with an infant insert, which is wonderful. I mostly use the beco and mei tais for back carries and use wraps for front carries. Only down side is that in the summer wraps can get hot - especially moby wraps as it's a TON of fabric. Slings are wonderful too and we use those for easy nursing. Carriers saved my sanity with the girls for sure. I kept all of them and will use them with these kids too. Becos are great dad friendly carriers too, which is nice.

I use my front carrier ALL THE TIME. It's my must-have item. ;) However, my boys LOVE the carrier....so that makes it worth it. I have 5 carriers. lol 2 Baby Bjorn's, Ergo, Baby K'Tan and the Chicco Backpack carrier. Hands down, I use the Baby Bjorn the most. The babies are the most comfortable in it. I never understand the hate for the Bjorn from some moms. lol I have the version w/out the lumbar strap & it's awesome. It's not bulky, I can put it on extremely easy, pop one of my boys in quickly and comfortable. They always fall asleep & I can easily remove them w/out waking & place them in their crib or car seat while still sleeping. That is a huge bonus for me. My dh wears the other Bjorn too.

I have heard that the Beco is a great carrier too, even in the back position! It was a toss up for me on the Ergo & the Beco....I bought the Ergo, but wish I would have bought the Beco. :( My boys always fuss in the Ergo.

We love our bouncy seats too! I would suggest 2 bouncers & 2 carriers...if you can swing it. :)

I would suggest getting the Bjorn used. I think they are ridiculously overpriced. We used ours during the first 6 months. Mostly DH used it. I used a mei tai carrier or a sling.

When the babies were really tiny I used a Moby. Then I bought a Beco and prefer that to the Moby. DH uses the Ergo. We like both carriers and use them frequently.

We have an Ergo and really like it. I also have a Moby and have occasionally carried one baby on my front in the Moby and one on my back in the Ergo. It works in a pinch, on those days when they're both really clingy! (Works better than trying to sit down and hold them both; they really don't like that and start shoving each other!)

Also, I can't imagine getting by with only one bouncy seat! We have used ours SO much!! For tandem bottle feedings (once they were a little bigger and the Boppys didn't work as well), for entertaining, to hold them when Mommy took a shower, etc. The one we got was only about $25 at Target (a basic Fisher-Price model) and even at almost 10 months they still like those things! LOL I don't think you're going to want to constantly be wearing a baby so I would really recommend getting two bouncy seats!

The Beco butterfly is great. And it's really good for back carrying when your babies get bigger.

I love the Beco carrier. I've had one with my last two kiddos and will start wearing the twins in it soon (I don't have the newer Butterfly version so I have to wait for them to be a little older before I can use it). It's great for back and front carries. If you're not sure how you'll like it, you might look over on thebabywearer.com . You can buy them used there and if you don't end up liking the way it feels, you can always sell it again to someone else.
