The only twin bassinets I have ever seen involve pack n plays. I would get on the Babies R Us web site and try to search there to see what I could find.

    CONGRATULATIONS on your girls!!!!!!!

I edited this to add. The twin bassinet I found when I was pregnant with my two (it was also a pack n play) had a divider in the middle and was more expensive. As newborns (actually even now), my girls slept better if they were able to touch. I did not order that bassinet and do not know if that divider was removable? but that may be something to think about when purchasing a twin bassinet.

We looked into twin basinettes with our girls too, but couldn't find anything we liked, so we went with a regular pack-n-play for travel and a crib for home and the girls slept SO much better together for the first 6 months or so that they were home. After that we split them up because they were kicking each other and waking each other up, but when they were tiny a single regular sleeping area worked great!

Ahhhh my arch enemy...not available in Canada LOL! I hate to say it but I think that a crib or an arms reach co sleeper might be a better idea. What is the bassinet weight portion rated to? I know normal ones are only to 15 pounds which wouldn't let you use it for long.

I found the arms reach with a quick google at Safety Superstore, or see if you are close to any of their Canadian retail outlets.

We just used a regular bassinet for the first little while then transitioned them to 1 crib together where they are right now.

    Good luck!

So if I got a play yard with a bassinet on top it should be fine for both of the girls? they won't have a problem sleeping so close together?

The bassinet on top of a regular Pack N Play will work fine for a few weeks, but your girls will quickly hit the weight limit (I think it's 15 pounds). Some play yards come with a second bottom that can be placed about 10 inches down from the top of the Pack N Play. We had one of those and my girls could both lie there until they were four or five months old.

I would suggest looking at something like the "arms' reach co-sleeper". All four sides go up, and A&R were able to use it for about 6 weeks together. Plus it has wheels so you can pick up one side of it and move it from room to room. The weight is a higher limit than the pack-n-play basinettes.
