I use some tune I know and make up songs about what the babies are doing. They love it. It sounds real stupid and I hope no one ever hears me, but the babies don't care. They don't know any better.

My mom has a song for all of her grandchildren but not for my poor Seamus (which actually is James in Gaelic)! She has to sing any song and put his name in it!

There is a company that makes CD's with songs with your child's name in it (any name!) I have a CD for my older son. IF you want the company name, PM me! It was like $15!

I was going to say this one. Neither of my twins are named James, but I love this song so I sing it to them in my terrible voice!!

Okay, i have brenden and landon and there are no songs about them...but - when we're rocking them, they love when i sing "you are my landon/brenden" to the tune of you are my sunshine... get it?

    so yours could be:
    you are my james
    my only james
you make me happy when skys are gray
you'll never know dear how much i love you
so please dont take my james away....

the boys smile when i start singing it and after about 5 times, they're sleeping...

All my kids like "My Bonny lies over the Ocean", but I substitute their names for Bonny. I know it's a sad song, but they think it's great. [IMG]

I always sing “Swing low sweet chariot†and when we get to the part of,“coming around the corner and who do I see…†I always use the kid’s names first. Then with every verse I use another family members name so they can get used to hearing them. I probably sing the song wrong but it’s their favorite. [IMG]

I sing this funny song from the tv show Romper Room. Remember that show from way back when? It goes something weird like..."skinna marinky dinky dink...skinna marinky doo...I love you..." Anyways, I put thier names into it and they love it. Its actually how I get them to stay still while I change thier diapers now.

When my now 3 1/2 year old (Tessa) was a baby, her grandmother sent this CD of songs and they take any name and incorporate it in to these great silly songs that she still loves, what's great is the last one is sort of a "lullaby song" the CD says Mediak and the number on it (I hope this is ok to post..) is 866-528-kids. and they personalize a note on the CD as wel. pretty cute.

I make up my own silly songs for diaper changes, doing burps and baths. They both love it!
