I think I am going to get the Britax Roundabout Convertible Car Seat ~ I have a $100.00 gift certificate for a local boutique baby store & they agreed to give me the 10% multiples discount like Babies R Us does...so I would only end up paying around $313.00 for 2 of them! Seems like a good deal for Britax right?

If you have the Roundabout do you like it? If not, why?

I reallllly don't want to spend the extra $100 for the Marathon...... <_<

I really didn't want to spend the extra $100 on the Marathon's either, but the Roundabouts only go to 40lbs and the Marathons go to 65lbs. If you don't spend the extra $100 now, you will be spending it soon enough (and then some) when you have to buy new car seats. The marathon's also got better reviews...

Ditto. We ruled out all the smaller convertibles because we didn't want to have to buy another set of seats when they got over 40lbs.

I've also been nerding out on Consumerreports.com & the Roundabout scored better than the Marathon though....
Roundabout scored 81 out of 100 & the Marathon scored only 58 out of 100???

The Evenflo Triumph 5 scored 80 out of 100....

I got one Roundabout and one Marathon because I couldn't choose, assumed one boy would grow faster, and wasn't sure how it would fit in our Subaru. I wish I'd shelled out the extra money for two Marathons! Not only is the Roundabout rated for a lower weight, but it is MUCH shorter. The relationship between the shoulder slots and the top of the seat is so much closer, I actually don't see how you could possibly use all the slots before baby's head is above the top...the Marathon seems like a much better value.

It's still a great seat - very easy to use, very roomy (for now :).

    edited for grammar!

ditto as well. our kids are petite, so i was thinking i would go from the Roundabout to a booster, but after more reading about the importance of the 5 point harass, I wanted to go with a seat that would last them until the are 4 or 5.

We are happy with the purchase.
