I was thinking about this, This morning. How much easier it would be to have 2 single strollers if there is another adult with you. Its so hard getting thru stores with the SBS.

Anyhow just wondering if anyone did this?

Yes, I have 2 single umbrella strollers. I had one from my ds1 and was gifted the second. I also think it's a good idea to have one for the odd times when you only have 1 child with you (i.e. dr. visits for 1 sick child). The umbrella strollers are very inexpensive $10 - $15 maybe.

Not yet, but my husband suggested it just the other day. Most stores don't easily accomodate the "Cadillac Stroller" that you have to have with twins.

We do we do! We decided to get 2 umbrella strollers instead of SBS double (we have a tandem double). I absolutely LOVE it. When DH and I go out we each take a stroller and it is sooooo easy to navigate in and out of places.

here's my related, though totally unsolicited story:

(for those seeking the short answer, yes, we had 2 umbrella strollers too--you may now move to the next post LOL)

when i was shopping for baby gear before the babies were born, my mom was along with me at BRU and we had coupons for free umbrella strollers. we both got one--yay! perfect! i proceeded to buy the special clips to attach them thus making a simple, lightweight though extra wide and at times awkward SBS, but we had the duoglider so it worked. fast forward to this past april when we were in tucson and took the umbrellas, since the duoglider takes up most of the cargo space in our SUV, and went to the mall. DH and i had a grand old time, it was a thursday. DS had thrown up the day before but seemed to be fine, and then that day, all he** broke loose as both proceeded to get a stomach bug that landed DD in the ER on friday night.

sometime on Saturday, my mom says "did you take the strollers out of the car?" and i said, yes, they're in the living room. come monday when things were better with the babies, i look in the living room and no strollers. look in the car, no strollers. can you BELIEVE DH and i loaded the kids in the car after the mall and just left the strollers in the parking lot?? needless to say, mall security and the store had no signs of them. oh well. no more individual umbrella strollers. now everytime we go out, we say, don't forget to load the stroller.

i guess there's now one recorded case of daddy brain, too....

it was time i shared, no threadjack intended.

Yep. We do. Love them. We have 2 umbrella strollers. We probably use them more than our SBS...which I basically just use for walks around the neighbourhood.

It would definitely be MUCH easier to use 2 single strollers if there is another person there to push it.

We have two single umbrella strollers - real cheapies - 10 bucks or something. I hate them and would not use them for any real strolling. I got them because when we take them swimming, it makes it easier for us to split up, take one in the mens locker room and one in the womens. We can get them dressed/undressed and then have a safe place to put them while we get changed. It is the one and only time we use them.

Our double strollers are much higher quality strollers, I prefer to use them. And I would not spend a lot of money to get 2 good quality single strollers for the very little they would get used.

I also have two cheapie umbrella strollers that I used frequently when we were out with me and someone else. They are much easier to navigate, but the downside is you lose the storage space the DuoGlider has, so for bigger outings, we still use that most of the time, if we need a stroller.

We have 1 fairly nice single stroller that someone gave us. We use it when one of us takes one baby out. I got it after I felt silly at the PED for a sick visit and only 1 kid in a double.

    It has been great!

We did and guess what we used them once. I/the boys much preferred the DuoGlider because of the trays and they could eat if we were out at lunch or snack time not to mention storage. I did not like the single stollers.

Yup, we've got two singles too that we've used when there are two of us.

And the duoglider, and the SBS, and the wagon...(I think I have a problem!), but we do use them all, lol!
