:D Yesterday at my appointment, the doctor said we are "out of the scary woods" now! Woo-hoo! He said all is progressing very well, and to tell family to start getting excited.

I go in two weeks to get testing done for downs. A little nervous about that....anyone who's had it, is it painful? Does it hurt the babies? How long does it take to get the results? (Sorry for the "20 questions"!)

Both babies are really active--one looked like it was playing "peek-a-boo"--it was too cute! They are both just wiggling away!

Anyway, just thought I'd share. I'm really excited. The doctor said I don't have to go in every week now. I go every two weeks now.

    Thanks for "listening"!

 I'm so happy you are out of the scary woods! It's so exciting telling family and friends, enjoy it! I didn't have any testing done for downs, so I have no advice. I hope things keep progressing nicely. :hug99:

Glad the appt. went well. Isn't it great to be able to see the babies?! :) I can't help you with the testing, we declined it all.

yay for a good appt. As far as the testing goes, I'm assuming your talking about a first trimester screening. It is just an ultrasound and a blood draw. They measure the nuchal fold of the babies neck to see if it is abnormal. It wasn't bad when I had it. If you have a good u/s tech, they can tell you then if it looks normal or not.

Hey Suzanne - that's great news!! Everyone around you is going to be getting so excited now! I had wanted to do the first trimester screening (blood draw and nuchal) but due to an error at the Dr's office we missed the deadline =(

I believe it's a very safe test for the babies as it's non invasive, a form of ultrasound really, which is why I'd wanted to see the results of that before deciding on an amnio. Apparently the blood drawing is the only discomfort you'll have, but I don't know how long it takes to get the results.

I did have my amnio done on Tuesday (which is why I'm hanging around on the internet so much, taking things easy!) so I'd be happy to share that experience nearer the time if you go for one of those.

Congratulations again on being out of the scary woods! Good work, momma!!

*Oops, didn't see that deb above me had pretty much said the same thing, lol!!

Molly, I appreciate your reply! DH and I have actually just decided to decline the genetic testing, and my doc said that tons of women decline the testing and that that is "a-ok" with him. So that relieved me.

I just know that no matter how these babies come out, we are still going to love them more than we could ever imagine. We are just going to leave it all in God's hands. I just don't want the stress of worrying about anything. I just want to enjoy my pregnancy. :D

we also declined the amnio - but we did the nuchal fold test which was just an ultrasound - hey you can't have too many of those! I just LOVED to see the girls!!!!

congrats on making it "out of the scary woods"!! I didn't have the downs testing, but I can only imagine the anxiety while waiting for the results. I am sure it will all go great for you. Good luck with everything!!
