Doctors appointment turned into trip to labor and delivery

Well yesterday was suppose to be a normal trip to the doctor, if only. It started of with the receptionist not checking me in when I got there so I sat for 45 minutes until the nurse finally figured out that I hadn’t been checked in and called down to the receptionist. <_<
So after I was “properly” checked into the computer I finally got taken back to see the doctor ( not my normal) I mentioned that I felt like I had been having a lot of BH contractions the last couple days and that either baby A had moved or his activity level had changed. She checked my Cervix and said it felt long and closed but thought maybe she would send me for a NST just to make sure everything was ok. She left came back and said she thought it would be better to send me to L&D since my cervix had felt short to her (even though a few minutes before it had felt long and closed??)
So across the street to L&D I went. They checked me in and then I sat for 20 minutes before a nurse came in to put monitors on me. She had a terrible time finding heartbeat for baby B and keep mentioning that their small size made it difficult to find the heart beats and they really didn’t expect me to feel much movement this early anyways. The doctor came in and said even though the heart rates looked just fine (and had to mention that the one I was concerned about looked great so obviously I was just confused) she wanted to send me down to ultrasound to check my cervix and baby’s. I mentioned that i needed my blood work done for the glucose test(at the start of my appointment they gave me my glucose drink so I had to remind them at L&D because didn’t want to do that over)so they had a lab tech come in and do that. She was great, that is probably the lest painful blood draw I have had to date, and she was a mother of twins so she chatted with me for a few minutes which helped pass the time.A hour and a half later I got wheeled down to ultrasound (being pushed through the hospital when I was fully able to walk did nothing for my mood) where they parked me in a corner and left me for 15 minutes before I got wheeled into a room where I was left for another 10 minutes. The ultrasound went by quickly and then I got to sit for another 15 minutes before I got wheeled back up stairs. When I got there they put me back on the contraction monitor which of course picked up nothing. So after another 20 minutes a different doctor came in (due to shift change the original doctor I had seen at the hospital had went home) and said everything looked perfect and if I was in fact ever having contractions they had no effect on my cervix so he was sending me home. His whole attitude came across as me wasting his time.
After being there for 4 plus hours I was relieved to go home, grateful that everything with the babies was fine, but felt more then a little annoyed by the doctors altitude. I do think the original doctor over reacted sending me to L&D in the first place (I got the impression she had little experience with twins) but what if something had been wrong and for the record just because I wasn’t having any BHC when I was at L&D doesn’t mean I haven’t been having them at all. Still I cant help but be annoyed by the whole thing.
Oh and to top if off I completely missed the interviewer who came to the house for my husband. Luckily he was totally understanding and told my husband he just hoped everything was ok.

    Wow - that sounds terrible!
I would have been admitted because my blood pressure shot up - and it would have been because I was so mad!!

The earliest we can hope to hear anything is a couple weeks on DH job. He is saying he isn’t worrying about it but I know he is anxious to hear.
The other benefit to being wheeled was not having to try to walk and keep my butt covered since I had to wear one of the wonderful hospital gowns. :D
