When I went in to my last appt. since I am having such a hard time with my m/s he mentioned that sometimes it can be linked to an abnormailty where your body doesnt break down certain vitamins and makes you sick. Well wouldnt you know I would be one of the lucky few who have this abnormailty. My body oesnt absorb or break down iron, mercury, folic acid or any of the b vitamins. Since before getting pregnant I have been taking extra folic acid and once the m/s kicked in I have been taking alot of vitamin b. Turns out it was for nothing. It does explain I guess why I have m/s so bad and without enough vit B it affects your moods and can lead to depression. Something I have been battling for a long time. The only thing I can do is take an active form of these vitamins. The new prenatal that he prescribes just in case has this in it but I now need to take extra. It an also be hereditary. Hmm I never knew of this problem and thought when he wanted to test me for it I would be ok. It isnt anything super serious but still something good to know. Just thought I would share this.

Wow, that is interesting. So, is the m/s any better? I had terrible m/s with Emma and Alex. I threw up every day until I delivered at 33 weeks. This time I threw up 5-6 times a day the first 16 weeks, had 4 weeks off, started again, four weeks off, started again and I am now vomiting every day again.

    Hope you have some relief!

the new prentals and the new prescription I am taking has helped. I havent thrown anything up since Tuesday until today. I just feel horrible again but I didnt sleep hardly at all last night so that probably has something to do with it. I had a 2 week break where I felt good and then the m/s hit again but got worse thats when I asked for something for it and he did the blood work too.

Wow, that is really interesting. I had severe morning sickness with all of my kids and have also battled with depression for almost my whole life. Sorry to hijack, but do you know what the test is called?
