Normally I post on the expecting boards but it occurred to me you guys would have the best experience with predicting appts. After delivery (assuming all goes well) what appt's should I expect the first two months? When the the babies go to the pediatrician? (e.g. 1 month?), will I have OB appts? Any thoughts are appreciated!

    Thank you!

We are 6 weeks into the new parent thing and so far the kids have had 2 appointments. They saw their doctor 3 days after coming home and then again at 2 weeks. We go back at 2 months for shots and a well baby check-up.

I have had 1 appointment with my OB for a 6 week check-up. Basically he checked to be sure my incision was looking good and that my uterus had contracted. It was above 5 minutes long.

    Hope this helps!

We had an appt 3 days after each came home (they came home at different times). Then a one month, 2 month, 4 month, 6 month appts. Luckily since the girls came home, we haven't had to go to the doctor's for anything except for check ups!

I had a 6 week check up with my OB and don't have to go back for a year!!

I went to the OB within a week of discharge (to check c-section incision), then again at about 4 weeks (to get birth control Rx - I had stopped BF by then). I go back in 6 months for my annual exam.

You'll go to the pedi within a day or two of discharge, then again at 1 month, 2 months, 4 months - assuming nothing else comes up (i.e., diarrhea, reflux, etc - other things for which the pedi would want to see the babies). My babies had ALL KINDS of issues at first so our pedi was on speed dial : ) Things have now calmed down a lot.

We were at the ped everyday in the first week because of jaundice. The babies had to have their bili checked daily. Then at 2 weeks, and 2 months.

I went to the OB 10 days pp, and then 6 weeks pp.

For me, C-section, I had an OB appointment a week after, and then went in again about 6 weeks after that. For the girls, we had an appointment a week after delivery, and then one at a month, and then again at 3 months.

Thank you for all the wonderful responses. I am due in November and this helps me with basic planning and communications with my family. Being a first time mom, I have no idea what to expect.
