i'll be 34 weeks on monday and i saw my OB today who said that although baby a is head down, baby b is still transverse. that if i choose to try to deliver vaginally, there is still a chance that i would need a c-section for baby b.
she said i dont want you to think im swaying you and telling you theres no way you can have the babies vaginally, there is a chance that baby b wont turn and i would need a section.

    <_<
i defintiely dont want to deliver both ways.
im thinking that i guess if im doing well i'll just be schuedled.

so OB's can move baby b around once A comes through. Would she do a section if baby b was breech or just transverse?

she didnt mention that at all. she said they would wait for him to turn and they only like to do a vaginal birth IF both babies are truly head down.

sorry--it looks like my message was partially cut off. I was just wondering if your MD would be willing to do vaginal birth with the baby in the breech position, or if breech and transverse for baby B would both require a section.

ok. I guess it depends on the OB. Some are comfortable doing a vaginal breech if the first baby is head down, others are not. mine prefers baby a head down, baby b breech.

My Ob told me once that he allow vaginally delivery only if both babies are head down. but because of the previous c-section he doesn't even allow me to have vaginal

It sounds to me like your OB only wants to deliver vaginally in case of head down, and if baby B doesn't turn head down (which is a possibility, my baby B didn't turn head down after A was out), she will go for a c/s for B. I would ask whether she's able and willing to perform a breech extraction. If she doesn't, a pretty good chance you'll end up with both.

My dr would only let me attempt vaginal delivery if both babies were head down. At 34 weeks, my baby B was breach, and we scheduled the c-section, and then sometime within that next week she flipped! I was shocked that she still had room to flip then. So there is still hope that "B" will cooperate hopefully!!!

I think it all depends on your OB. i was almost begging for a section because i was so scared to have one vag and one sec. but my Ob was all for a vag delivery. said he would do a breech extraction if need be. ended up with a vag delivery and very happy (like he had said) that i was not going home with baby twins after just having had sergery. (if i did not have to)
the other Ob in the office will do a schedual a c section as soon as she knows there are twins.

That is a bummer that your OB will not perform a breech extraction on Baby B. From previous posts that I have read it seems A gets things pretty open so it isn't a hard thing to perform. I made sure this was an option for me b/c I really want to avoid a c/s if at all possible. At my peri's practice they said if A was head down and B was breech or transverse we would set an induction date for a time when the practicing OB that was on was one that is comfortable with breech extraction.

I hope Baby B turns head down for you and all goes well!!!!

that is exactly the scenario I was in and we went vaginal.

When Baby A comes out there is a lot of room in there that the doc can guide baby B head down. But if your doctor isn't comfortable with that, that would make me lean more towards a C-section. My dcotor was all for vaginal.

good luck with yoru decision! I had the same concerns as you!

Hang in there. My boys didn't turn head down until 35 weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed that your babies turn!
