Hi. I just saw a pedi neurosurgeon and have decided to put my 9mos old son in a helmet and need to do it asap. I am in NJ so we have a lot of options. Does anyone know the difference between the Doc Band and the STAR band?

Do you mean like a helmet people wear for epilepsy? The DOC band is what you want. We have Star Band. It is so worth it. My daughter has had one since she was 5 months old. She is now 9 months and almost done. Her flat spot was pretty bad. You will fight w/ your insurance company over the payment. Those people don't even know what a DOC Band is. I was on the phone constantly. The cost was 2500. A lot of them do not cover the DOC Band. I ended up deducting it from my taxes.

I think its just a different product designed for the same purpose. You can google them and check out their websites to compare. We didn't have a choice, just got the STAR band, and I think its adorable. Ethan started at 9 months also, and has worn it a little over a month. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. There are a lot of other ladies on here with experience as well. Good luck, its really not so bad. :)
