I'm 27 weeks pregnant with twins and in the hospital on bedrest. I've been here for 17 days because of a short cervix and PTL. Every 4 hours someone comes by and asks me if I have any aches, pains, discharge, leaking etc. I have had this all since the beginning of my pregnancy, but now I'm so aware of everything and find I worry about every niggle and analyze the discharge. How do you deal with it?

I am the same way. I have been leaking fluid, so now every time I go to pee I analyze it and it drives me crazy!

I wouldn't know the difference between normal discharge and amniotic fluid. How do you know?

This is all so true. My fave question is: When was your last bowel movement? Even that makes me paranoid!!!! :)

Some days the paranoia throws me into a whirl of anxiety. . . those are the days I cry after suppertime thinking I'm not going to make it to my next goal. If I'm bored too, I tend to focus on my aches, pains and fears. For me, the weekends are the longest and worst. (My weekend nurse is a brute. . . haha, sort of!)

In the early days of bedrest I would give serious thought to every standard question the nurse would ask me every 4 hours. Towards the end of the second week, I said everything is the same as before I will let you know if there is a change. ;) I know they have to ask for charting purposes, but come on, do they really think a first time pregnant Mom with twins on bedrest is going to fail to mention any little change?

Good Luck with the bedrest, keep them in as long as possible. The NICU is not fun.
