Do yours take different nap lengths?

Are your babies' naps different lengths? Our girls nap VERY differently. One can nap over 1.5 hours at a time whereas the other one prefers 30-40 minutes. This can completely mess up our day with them taking different nap lengths. We have done everything we can think of to extend her naps but nothing seems to work. The odd time (maybe once every 3 weeks) she will take one really long nap - like yesterday she took a 2-hour nap. There was nothing at all different about yesterday. She just decided to sleep longer! ;)

Anyone else in the same situation?

mine do the same thing. i try to keep them on the same schedule as much as possible. today wasn't one of those days. i just deal. a lot of the time though they will sleep the same, or wake up w/in minutes of each other. i don't have any advice to get them to sleep the same. i'd like to know if anyone else does. i think doing the same things w/ them throughout the day helps.

Yes, one of my guys always falls asleep before the other and vice versa on the waking up. I usually just leave them in there a certain amount of time even if they are crying. They have gotten much better about it and play with the stuffed animals and toys I leave in their cribs.

Yes, K&K just do not need the same amount of sleep and there is nothing I can do about it. I did like Sarah, I would leave them both in there until I heard them both then I would get them. Sometimes I would hear one and then a few minutes later would check and s/he was back to sleep. I wouldn't have done this if either of them woke up sad but they always woke up happy and remained happy until I got them.

Mine do the same thing and there's not much I've found that I can do to fix it!
I'll be anxious to read the replies!

My girls are the same way. I make sure that there are a few toys in their cribs, in case one wakes up before the other. I leave them in there for the same amount of time. Only on rare occasions, do they nap for the same amount of time.

Yes...everyday! My DD just does not like to nap. My DS LOVES to nap. She takes only one nap a day...sometimes I get her to take two. He takes 3 - wouldn't it be great if they slept at the same time!?!?

Mine also nap very differently. My DD has always been a better sleeper than my DS. She naps a lot longer than he does. He seems to take little cat naps.

Sometimes I will wake up the one that is still sleeping so they can be awake at the same time. That way they will be somewhat on the same schedule. I don't always do this, but somedays it helps.

I do something similar to New Mom--I'll wake the one that is sleeping longer once she has reached 1.5 hours. That usually helps them get to the same schedule for the next nap/bedtime.

Heck yeah...so frustrating! ;) My Jonathan loves to nap - sleeps great. James on the other hand takes short, naps and wants to play, play play!
