Do your twins still nap? When did napping finish?

We've had a couple of days where the girls didn't nap, they just TALKED all through their nap and after 2 hours we went and got them up. Also we took them to Disneyland and didn't bother to take them home to nap and they did fine (although they slept longer that night and napped longer the next day)

Just realising how MUCH I love their nap time, it gives me time to relax etc.

Mine still nap during the week but it's not a pig deal for them to miss their naps on the weekend. Mine still need naps or they are cranky. If you want them to nap still you might seperate them for naps

We finally dropped naps in October, so not quite 3.5. We did, however, go through numerous phases where one or the other or both didn't nap at all. Sometimes it was a few days, sometimes a week or more. I just kept up the routine and they eventually went back to napping. I don't miss the break as much as I dislike the earlier bedtime. There are some nights that we are heading them for bed at 6:30 because they are just wiped out and they sleep til almost 8 am! It wasn't until they were fighting naps hard and on the days they did sleep they weren't falling asleep at night until 9:30 or 10. I decided earlier bedtime and no naps was better than falling asleep so late.

I remember telling the ped that my older DD was done with her nap at her 3-year well visit. But, it turned out that she still needed a nap every few days, and it was a loooong transition to not napping at all. Between 3.5 and 4, she was totally done.

They were definitely done by their third birthday.

My boys still nap, and they are over 4.5 yo. They need them! We can occasionally skip but that means very early to bed.
I am actually stressing about weaning them off of naps to get ready for all day kindergarten this fall

Our 2 hour nap time has turned into a 1 1/2-2 hour "quiet time."

I let them watch a movie or show during that time. Sometime they sleep, sometimes they don't. They probably sleep during quiet time 3 days out of the week.

They are both conked out on the couch. They have been fighting colds all week. We had them outside this morning.
    Fresh air does wonders!

I formally dropped them at 3, but if they fall asleep watching a movie or something, I let them have the rest. Ali can still use one every now and then, so I let her!

Mine have those days too...where they like to stay up & chat/play. I'll go in there a couple of times & tell them to be quiet & it is night night time. Sometimes they'll give in & snooze....other times they just start going at it. All of us still have quiet time, typically I'll let the older 3 stay up on Saturday, but the 4.5 yo can't skip too many days w/o a nap, he'll get worn down & make life pure Hades for us!!

My boys will be 5 next week and are still napping. It is sometimes a battle to get the to sleep, so I can see them phasing them out soon.

Thanks so much everyone!! we dont have the option of seperating them for naps so its good to know it can turn into 'quiet' time too. I will continue to keep it in their routine and not act like it is going to end soon!! :D

Still napping but today they just went in their room and caused trouble. Maybe we are at the end of napping.

Mine just turned 3 this month and my good nappers are beginning to give them up. I got 2 naps this week....One I was driving home from playgroup and they were wiped out. Granted, Steven was learning to potty train so that affected us some....he was so excited and had to go #2 during nap time.

I am hoping to hang on to naps until the end of the school year, but lately if I try to lay them down they just play. THey throw things like their clean socks from the dresser. It has become a game and I so want them to stop. I do separate but that has not helped much. I try earnestly for 1/2 hour to get them to actually sleep, then I try for quiet reading time. But it seems like they are wilder when I try that. After an hour I usually let them watch a show.

I really miss MY TIME during nap time!

They started giving them up before two, but we pushed on and got another few months out of them. Before 2 1/2 they were done completely. They did sleep 12+ hours at night, so the ped said they were getting enough sleep at night that we didn't need to worry.

They slowed down on their naps about 6 months ago (2.5) and have not been taking naps at all for about the last 2 months. It has been rough but now I can plan stuff for us to do during the days. It is getting better.

Mine just stopped their naps very recently (within the last month). But one of them went through a phase of not napping around 2 1/2.

Mine only nap two or three times a week, if we are lucky. They are in pretty good spirits until bedtime if they don't nap, so it doesn't seem to affect them too badly. Sometimes I will push bedtime back if they are just having too many meltdowns, but for the most part, now that they are older, they just seem to be moving away from their naps.

Mine will be 5 in May and still nap most days of the week. I don't remember when it was (it's been a while now), but I did/do have to separate them. One of them sleeps in my bed, the other in his own. They get put down for naps 6 out of 7 days (the 7th day they have speech during naptime), and I would say they sleep at least 4 days of the week on a bad week, or all 6 days on a good week. My DD napped until the summer between K and 1st as they had "quiet" time on mats during K. Mine don't have too bad an attitude if they miss 1 day, but more than that and they are CRANKY!

Mine still nap. Emilie sleeps for about 1/5-2 hours and Trevor sleeps for about 2-3 hours every day. :)
