Do your twins do this

Everytime they are laying within about a foot or so of each other they somehow scoot together and snuggle. It is adorable but it scares me when they wake up and swat each other and I am worried about spitting up on each other.... should I worry?

Mine didn't - probably because we swaddled them and the poor dears couldn't move. So i can't really say whether you should or shouldn't worry, I suspect I wouldn't. But as my two are older and sturdier I've probably become more relaxed. I do remember when they were so fragile and scary, it's just hard to imagine now.

Anyway, not such a helpful response from me ...

The real reason I wanted to reply was to tell you that your photo is one of the cutest I've seen. Your babies look totally adorable. I'm sure this'll be a picture you'll treasure in months and years to come [IMG].

Mine didn't do this either, but probably because we swaddled them very tightly. I just wanted to tell you it's SO CUTE!! I think I would worry during naps if you can check on them now and then, but during the night, I'd probably try to keep them apart just in case they roll on top of eachother. My DS is a lot stronger than my daughter so when he started moving a lot more, I separated them.

Ours ALWAYS did this!!! We could put them a mile away from each other and they would always end up just like your picture!! I wish I would have taken more pictures of this. I just didn't think about it at the time. After a few months we had to separate them as one always woke up the other one. They still have a very close connection though and always look for each other when they are separated (they are fraternal).

I never really worried about them spitting up on each other (which did happen). Plus, I found it easier to put them in sleep sacks as they would never stay bundled because they HAD to be by each other.

Oh your picture is so cute! They look so absolutely lovely!

I think Miro likes to be close to his brother (Miro is the younger and smaller one), while Mehmet just doesn´t care and likes to sleep with his arms and legs stretched far out.

    They look like this then:

We've just started letting our girls take occasional naps lying next to each other like that. They do that exact same thing! It is so so cute. My DH wants to let them sleep like that all the time, but I wasn't sure how safe it was either. Plus, I'm not as convinced as he is that they're sleeping better. They do tend to soothe each other when they stir, but I think they stir a lot more often. Right now, most of the time our girls sleep in their boppy pillows. I'd love to snuggle them next to each other more often though! I'll be watching to see what others have to say about the safety issues though.

Thanks for the thread! You read my mind!

Mine liked to scoot to each other too. But, that picture is soooo cute. They love each other and want to be close to each like they were in your tummy.

OMG! Thank you for the picture. That is absolutely beautiful! Mine didn't do this. They would lay with their arms spread out over their heads. I swaddled their bellies and legs, but they hated their arms wrapped tightly. I wouldn't worry about it at all. They look so peaceful. How old are they?

That is the sweetest thing. Our were swaddled up so tight, but Ainsley would turn herself so that her head was touching Carter's every morning. Of course we don't have a picture of that, so bravo for thinking of the camera!

Mine did it as well, even tought we swaddled them. I wouldn't worry too much until they start to roll. We had to separate ours into separate cribs at about 5-6 months due to the rolling.

    I think I have a picture somewhere...

awwww, that is sooo adorable! Mine don't really do that, they sprawl all over the place. But they are usually sleeping in the same position which I find neat, each will have their heads facing the same way and their arms in the same position. SOmetimes I'll go in there and one will be latched on to the other's fingers or arm [IMG]

    OMGOsh, how sweet!
I don't know if ours would do that on their own or not; we always swaddle and lay them close together. They do not sleep well on their own - they like to be next to someone. I do worry sometimes about them swapping Co2, but not about spit up. This photo illustates one concern, however:

I try to swaddle mine but they hate it... they like there legs and arms free....

They are 3 weeks old and no matter how far apart I lay them they do it.. Thanks for everyone's input. I feel pretty good about them doing it now...

And I love to take pictures of them snuggling... that is just the most recent. Thanks for all the sweet comments on it though [IMG]

Mine still do this! I think its cute and yes we find spit up in each others hair. They smack each other and pull each others hair accidentally but most of the time, they hugging! Its very rare that they wake each other up or bother each other, even when they pull hair.

I wish I could say that this happens, the only reason the girl's scoot together is to kick eachother.

The boys snuggle each other, I'll have to get a picture some time. [IMG] They also hold hands during diaper changes, crawl on each other and bite each other (teething). They seem to be sad when the other isn't there.

What an adorable picture! We swaddled so the girls didn't have a chance to do that, but I put them next to each other when we have blanket time, tummy time, and mobile time. They seem to want to be close and hold hands, it's really cute.
