Do your toddlers drink 2% or whole milk?

My boys are a little over 2 years old. They are at a good weight (32 pounds), so I don't have to worry about them being too skinny or anything. When do you stop giving them whole milk? Do you switch to 2% or 1%?

We switched to 2% around their 2nd birthday.

We switched from whole to 1% after their 2nd b-day. Fine with ped. and now we only have 2 kinds of milk in the fridge. (DH enjoys the 1% with them and I drink skim.) My boys like 1% just fine--maybe I'll eventually get us all swiched to skim.

We switched from whole to 2% before they turned 2. We eventually switched from 2% to 1% when the girls were around 3 because hubby bought 1% by mistake and we didn't notice the difference so we stayed with it since it's cheaper.

After our two year appt, our pedi recommended we switch to nonfat. My kids, for the first time, jumped on the growth curve and she was a little concernced about weight gain. So I switched to nonfat, which is great since that is what I prefer. Now I have room for milk for all four of us again in my fridge!!!

My pedi wasn't worried about weight in any direction (too much or too little) at their 2 yr appt so he said we could choose what they drank. My DH will only drink 1% so YAY, finally we have only one kind of milk in the fridge!

At two years old, as per the pedi's recommendation, we switched to 2% milk. Shortly after we switched to skim only because that is what DH and I drink and it was easier to have one type of milk in the house. They get plenty of fats through cheese and yogurt so there was no concern about that.

We were on whole until about 2.5 and are now on 2%. I'll probably put them on skim at 3 if the pedi says it's ok and that way I'll only have to buy one kind of milk for about 6 months...

My mother in law is a nurse (retired now) and she said it is fine to switch the twins to 2%. We did when they turned 21 months old, so we've been on 2 % for almost a month now. She said Michael definitely could go to 2%, and Mikayla is still a bit skinny so she said either whole milk or 2%. But I am just buying 2% now.

I was told to switch my girls to fat free milk at the 2 year visit. I was suprised. Instead we all use 1% figure a little fat is good for all of us.

We use 2% since they were 2. I prefer 2% so it works out great for us.

The ped wants the girls to weigh a bit more before we switch them to 2%. They were still at about the 15% and 20% for weight when we took them to be weighed at 21 months, so he said we'd see at the 24 month appt.
