I had imaginary friends growing up so I'm used to that idea, but what suprises me is that they share their friends with each other. In the "Skippyjon Jones" series of books there are 4 little cats. Timothy usually pretends to be Skippy. Sarah is usually Jujubee and then they imagine Jezebel and Jillyboo into whatever game they are playing. For example. we literally have a blizzard going on outside, so the kids set up a picnic in the playtime. They set up 5 spots, one for me, Timothy, and Sarah, and then one for each of their imaginary friends. They'll each voice each friend. They'll each contribute to what the other friends are doing. Or they'll play Uno or some other gave and each will play two hands, their own and one of the friends.

So I guess I've just never heard of sharing imaginary friends. Anyone else have this?

We don't even have any imaginary friends to share. :( I never had any either, and neither did DH. Maybe it's just not in my kids' DNA.

I had imaginary friends growing up but so far, my twins do not. They pretend to be characters on TV or in movies but no friends.

"I" has Dragon boy and Batty that he plays with. "V" brings his friend "katty" into play usually after "I" brings either Dragon boys or Batty into play. They spend a lot of time telling me wht their "friends" are upto or able to do. Frequently these are things they have seen their older cousins do that they are not allowed to do. Kind of interesting. their "friends" are older than they are. They often have "candy" prties over at dragon boys house in the middle of the night.

I do not know that this answered your question, but this is what goes on in our house. One is open to the idea that it is just play. THe other complety broke down when we tried to talk about them being pretend. So, we dropped the idea for now. I talked to their Pedi and she said it was normal

My boys (5 in June) have 1 imaginary friend that they play with together. "April" joins them on car rides and plays with them at home. I guess they are used to sharing everything! I never had an imaginary friend when I was little so this is all new to me. Interesting to sit back and watch them play.

Oh yes...my girls share their friends all the time.

Funny thing...I never had them as a kid...but they both do.

    same here.
I think imaginary friends would freak me out a bit since it's not something I'm used to.

My 6 year old boys use to each have their own imaginary friends that they played with together.

They both had invisible alien friends called "Visible" that traveled by rocketship :D...they were from different planets, had different characteristics and looked different. Jude's Visible use to show up after trips from around the galaxy more often though, but Evan would be just as excited.
