    Their last name?
Both of my girls can say their full name (sometimes they remember their middle name)...
I'm hoping that this will help if they ever get lost. Lets just hope I don't have to test that theory out.

No. But they wouldn't even tell a stranger their first name, so it wouldn't help much. My kids don't talk to people they don't know, thanks to a massive dose of cautious shyness.

Not yet. That is something I plan to work on this summer.

My kids know their whole names - first, middle, last. However, when they did a preschool screening I realized that they don't know what it means if they are asked for their "last name", as we always say "whole name", meaning all three parts. They also know our street name and town.

However, as a PP said, they would probably never give that info to a stranger, as they usually won't say a single word to someone they don't know.

Ben gets it right but he mispronounces it badly enough that you'd have to already know what it was to understand him. Adam, when asked, says his last name is "Poop". I think he knows the right answer but he won't give me the satisfaction of hearing him say it.

As a side note, there are two Bens in their class so Ben is frequently referred to by his first and last name. At home, Adam sometimes calls Ben by his first and last name but still refuses to admit that he has the same last name as his brother.

Yes- they just learned it a few weeks ago.

They also know Mommy & Daddys name- and will answer correct when we say what is Mommys/Daddys name?

It was important for safety reasons ( car accident, lost in a store, hurt at school, etc)- they know their full first and last names (sometimes they do middle too). They also know their nicknames- which we use everyday. We have talked to them about talking to police, firemen, etc....hopefully they will remember who is 'safe' to talk to if they ever need too!

We are practicing phone number and street/city.

At this point, yes...mostly because they hear all three names when they're in trouble :winking0009: ...which is A LOT!! Several of our twin friends also know all three of Owen's names!! (and will use it when he's getting into something!!)

    Their last name?

Yup, they know their full names. After a little coersion, they could probably tell you their street/town.

No, I know they should but they do know their first and middle name because they seem to hear that more than anything ^_^

I taught my DD after she started pre-school this year so around 3 years 4 months. It never crossed my mind though until I got a questionnaire from school to track her development throughout the year.

Amy knows it, though I don't know if anyone would understand her pronunciation but us. It comes out as "Amy Ibiss Pookins." She also knows DH's and my full names, but again, probably no one would understand her.

I imagine that Sarah knows them too, but given that she still calls herself "Wawa" because she can't pronounce "Sarah," it's a lost cause trying to get her to say her full name.

Hyrum can. He has been able to say his name since last summer when he was 2 1/2.

If you ask them their last name, sometimes they say it. I'm not sure if they really understand the concept of first, middle, and last names. If I ask Ainsley what her name is, she says "Ains-ey Dah-weeze" Bea will say "Be-a-tix", sometimes she says "Ahn-ka", but not always.

My boys can say their entire name. First, middle and last.

They also know me and DH's full names.

I am in trouble... my DH jokes with them that their middle names are 'Tito'. So they go around calling themselves 'Cole Tito' and 'Chloe Tito'. Occasionally I am 'Mommy Tito' and the cat is 'Nduku Tito'.

My girls know their last name AND their address -- well, they might not answer to "what is your address?" but they know the name of the street, and if you ask "What number?" they will answer "#14."

No, my boys are just barely talking! Although I suppose once they do start talking, they'll know since I use their full names when they are in trouble!

My girls both know their whole names, as well as mine and DH's, all three grandparents, and their aunt and uncle on DH's side. One time when we had gone out to eat, we were waiting to be seated and an elderly lady from our church came in. She sat down next to Alexis and said "Now, are you Alana or Alexis?" and Alexis said, in a very haughty voice, "I'm Alexis Grace B****!" :)

Our girls just turned two a few weeks ago and we recently started teaching them this info. They respond correctly to both "last name" and "family name." They know my, DH's, and our parents' full names. They also say the name of our state when asked "where do you live?" Our street name is long and hard to say so we're not planning to teach that quite yet. I think it's enough that they can say their own plus mommy's, daddy's, and both sets of grandparents' full names. The police can look us up in a phone book should anything horrible happen.
