Do your kiddo's still take 3 naps?

I was wondering if mine are the only one. Sometimes it is hard for the evening nap with older kids activities.

    Here is our routine:
7:30 wake up or they are already up
    9:30 first nap
    1:30 second nap
    5:30-6 third nap
    8:30-9:00 bed time

I guess if it isn't broke I shouldn't mess with it, right?

I should add that their naps are around 2 hours each time. Except for the evening one. It is .5-1 hour nap

Chris, we dropped that 3rd nap right around 8 months, and put them to bed earlier. I hear you on the older kid's activities! It makes for a crazy schedule!!

Mine are on 3 naps, but a different schedule then yours - they wake around 630, naps around 830 and noon, and a shorter one around 330-4ish, then down for the night around 630pm. They seem to be in the process of phasing themselves to 2 naps, a longer morning one and afternoon one. I watch their signs and they are starting to go longer without getting tired. But I wanted to say that we used to have a catnap around 5, 530 where they would nap for about 20 minutes or a half hour, then go to bed around 830 ... one day I kept them up and they got super crabby but they went down by 730 and ever since then, no catnap at night and they go down earlier.

I was going to say the same as Becky, could you drop that last one and do an earlier bedtime or do the older ones' activities run too late? My girls were down to two naps at that age, 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

My guys are taking four 45-minute naps. It's so annoying (I know, I know, at least they're sleeping). I pray they'll start taking 2 or 3 longer naps soon (any tips?).

Same here and I totally understand the older kid's schedule. It made our first year a lot tougher! I have mine on a two nap schedule and plan that for the next year so I can work around my eldest's school schedule (again ).

Ok...they missed their evening nap because of family being in from out of town. So, today I let them sleep and wake up on their own which was 8:30 a.m. They got to bed and fell asleep by 8:30 p.m. last night. A first here since I am such a schedule freak!

I did this thinking that I am going to go by their lead and see if I can get them to get out of that third nap. This will mean that their naps woud go later now which I think will be ok. But if I go by their normal times of being awake...that is 2 hours. Maybe they will be able to stay up longer if I don't wake them up???? I generally had to wake them up to keep them on schedule.

I guess I am for an adventure this week!!! I really have a hard time getting them to bed any earlier than 8:30. I could shoot for 8 but that would be pushing it a lot of the time. Maybe once I get this tweaked around, I will work on that next. OR maybe it will all come together and go from there? Just seems like if they would get up at 8:30 everyday that is so late starting the day. Ok..I am rambling. I will see what happens over the next few days.

My twins are only 4 months (this week!) and have always taken only 2 naps. They don't wake in the morning until 9 so their first nap isn't until 11:00. Second nap starts around 2:00 and they sleep until 5:30-6:00. I start feeding them their last bottle around 8:45 and they fall asleep by themselves between 9:15-9:30. The schedule works for us right now so I'm not messing with it. Their long afternoon nap allows me extra time with my older DD after her nap and all my kids get up in the morning between 8-9 so I get to sleep in a little.

Dropped the 3rd nap at 4 months (my oldest was 6 months). We now have 9 am and 1 pm naps combined with an early bed time (around 6.20-6.30; used to be 6 pm when they were younger).
