Do you use swim diapers when they are potty trained?

My 2 are fully potty trained. I worry about them having accidents in the pool, especially peeing in the pool, since they might be having too much fun to want to tell me they have to get out of the pool to go to the potty.

I will probably continue to use them with Sam because they fit under his swim trunks without a problem, but Emily is in one of those weird in between sizes phase and I might be able to get by with a 2T without a swim diaper, but if I use them then I will probably have to buy a 3T wich may end up being too long in the torso or big up top. UGH!!

Swim diapers are for poop containment only (pee runs right out). I quit the swim diapers as soon as they were trained and given the quantity they pee when they "water the flowers", they are holding it in the pool.

I am not planning to use them with my twins this summer, as long as Trevor gets better with poop. Once my oldest DD was PTed, I stopped using them. I'm looking forward to not using them this summer, actually! :)

I quit. I did go with bikinis though for my girls, it sure make bathroom trips easier. They've also been wearing the same bikinis since they were two they are size 2T because they've only really grown in height since then. They are skinny. So the bottoms and top still fit fine, just with more space between them.

Yep, pee runs right through swim diapers. So essentially, they were peeing in the pool with the swim diapers anyway. I learned that the hard way when I dressed them for the pool at home and then one peed in the carseat. Oops.
But no, I don't plan on using them this year. Stopped using them with Bea last summer, this year Ainsley is trained too. Yay!

Yeah, what they all said. :)

But now that I think about it .. it kinda grosses me out. All them little kids peeing in the same water we are swimming in !

Nope. Once she was trained, there was no reason too. It only holds poop. They have really zero absorbancy.

Mine aren't trained and I'm not going to use the swim diapers much this summer. I'll use them when we are going to public places, but I won't use them at all at home.

I'm glad to read this, because my first thought was "Maybe I should use them, just to be safe" -- but I guess I won't. (They never pooped in them even when they wore them.) That will be nice!

I only have one potty trained right now, but I won't put her in swim diapers. I did buy them all 2 piece bathing suits for this summer to make it easier to go potty. I have great hopes that Grace will also be trained by bathing suit time.
