Do you use pull-ups when you're out and about?

I think I am finally getting ready to officially start potty-training the boys (they currently pee on the potty but it is all very informal and they still wear diapers). I am planning on going the underwear route as opposed to pull-ups. However, I am really worried about what to do when we go out. I know most people use pull-ups when they are out and about. In the mornings we are often gone 9:30-11:30am. Will this harm the PT process if they need to pee in their pull-up everyday?

Also, they are so small that I am concerned they'll leak through their pull-ups because they won't stay on well. Would it be horribly confusing to use diapers instead?

    Thanks!

I think you may confuse them - They won't know when it is OK and when it is not OK. I would just take along pleny of clothes. Are the boys ready for going the whole potty training route? My son was 3 when he was ready. Take along plenty of clothes.

travel potties! I have one that folds up into a bag it came with and uses bags to hold the waste. I keep flushable wipe in the bag with it. It fits great in a diaper bag or tote bag with extra just incase clothes.
I got mine at Baby Depot.

I second the travel potty. We did that with my one daughter who is trained. When we went out, I was nervous, but it turned out to be no big deal. Whenever we went somewhere, I would just put her on the potty (in the back of our car) and made sure to take her every 30 minutes or so in the beginning. We got a great one from One Step Ahead. It folds up like a briefcase and has a place to store bags (I buy the generic gallon size ones) and wipes. We never really used pull ups with her. With my second daughter, we gave her pull ups and it's backfired on us. Now she has no desire to train because she likes her big girl diapers. Why I didn't do the same thing with both girls, I have no idea...hindsight... Good luck.
