Do you think your kids are the cutest ones out there?

Just curious . . . when we have playgroups or music class and I see all the other kids their age I think how lucky we are that our two are the cutest of them all. I know (at least I think I do) that every parent thinks her/his kid is the cutest, but mine really are!

I was always this way with my dog too (before I had kids, when I had time to think about my dog).

Do you all feel the same way? Do the mothers of the really annoying kids think their kids are the best too? Do other mothers think my kids are really annoying (and funny looking too)?

Is this some weird hormonal thing that happens when you give birth to make sure you feel attached to your children?

Heck yeah!

In fact, at the library last week the librarian came up and confirmed it!! And, we were with two other sets of twins!

We get comments all the time.

Clearly, there are just as cute little ones out there, but definitely not more cute.

 

people come up to me and say boys arent supposed to be that beautiful.. and why dont you put him in baby modeling..

becauseim not going to turture mykid..

but for having 2 boys and a girl.. they each have something wonderful to bring to our little family.. i try to make it their personalities..

but their faces are so precious..

I do agree with Melissa though, I don't fool myself about them being the best-behaved.

Regis and Kelly don't think my babes are the cutest out there... but we definitely are partial.. he he.

 

I think I'm in the minority on this one. My girls were definitely funny-looking babies (no matter what their grandparents think) and looking back they were even funnier-looking than I remember!! Cute funny-looking but definitely funny-looking.

Now, as they are getting older they are definitely getting prettier and prettier, but I'm not ready to say they are the cutest. I'm sure they are SWANS though! And they do have great hair.

 

I think your girls are adorable Marie! I'm so jealous of that pretty red hair My mom would kill for redheds! My sister's kids have red hair, but mine don't (obviously). I think mine were pretty funny looking as babies too! Andrew looked like a little old man for the longest time!

 

Of course mine are the cutest!!

What's funny is we thought they were the cutest newborns-- and DH and I would literally talk about how cute they were at 3 a.m. feedings!! However when we look at the pictures now--- um, they weren't that cute!!

 

um, i'm sorry, everyone, but MINE are the cutest ones alive on the planet. Everyone else has cute, beautiful babies, but I have to vote that mine are THE cutest, and usually their behavior matches their natural beauty too.

Every once in a while I see a young child who, objectively, is simply better looking than mine. But it's rare.

And yes, I think it is hard-wired. In fact sometimes I even see kids who look a lot like mine, only by some mysterious alchemy, mine are better-looking.

 

We do the same here too. We had a crowd of employees surrounding us at Art Van the other day, it reminded me of something out of a scary movie, they were coming out from everywhere! Lol.

Although, looking back on newborn/infant photos DP and I both agree they were not *that* cute. Is that horrible to say? I just remember thinking they were SO adorable, but now they are SO much cuter.

 

I of course think that my kids are absolutely beautiful "now". My ds was not good looking when he was a baby, he looked like a little old man. But now, he is very handsome and his ds is so beautiful with her big brown eyes. Our ds #2 is just such a beautiful baby though. The nurses in the nursery voted him the best looking baby of the day when he was born. My dh and I sometimes think he's a girl and I say it's because he's so pretty he should be one. LOL

 

I'd worry about a mother who didn't think her kids were cute! They look like a combination of all of the family members you love, your mate, and yourself. What could be cuter than that?

And yes, mine are the cutest babies ever born.

 

I guess I'm just weird I don't like to say anything is the -est. I think my girls are cute( and know it because everybody tells us so ) but I think other babies are cute too in their own way.

 

Of course my kids are the cutest . Since DH, grandma, and grandpa all agree with me I can't possibly be wrong!

 

I think it is natural for parents to think their kids are the best. I remember when the girls were born I thought they were adorable. But looking back they were scrawny, and had big heads!!!! HAHA..


When my FIL came to hospital to see them I remember him saying that Ava looked like his mom (a tiny, gray haired, wrinkled up old italian lady) . I burst out crying.. But you know what he was right!!!!

Now they are blossoming and I think they are BEAUTIFUL!!

As are all of your kiddos too!!!!

 

Yes, of course I have the cutest kids ever! I do look around at the other kids in a group and think mine are the cutest.
I have also had that thing where we look back at the infant pictures and think "huh, I guess they weren't as cute as I thought they were".

 

Yup! Its funny how we think that way? I knew a mom years ago who kept entering her dd into beauty pagents because she saw her as drop dead cute. The truth was she was a very strange looking pale thin haired baby. I know terrible to say but she was not a cutie, but her mom saw her differently. I know there was a period I thought one of my dd's was really cute and I look back now and think how goofy she looked. Overall I think mine are pretty exceptional though lol! But who knows maybe I just see that lol!

My DH and I would talk about it all the time.. We are convinced they are the cutest. We would even go through all of their body parts - ears (super-cute), eyes (perfect), nose (beautiful) and clearly with all of their perfect body parts, it must not be just us.

I think its hardwired into you to think yours are the cutest.

I think that this has a lot to do with it. They are your own flesh and blood. Of course they are the cutest!

I can say that my SIL always says that she is afraid to have kids because ours are hard to top! Kaitlyn looks just like her.

And, yes, mine are the cutest!

I totally agree. I alway tell my kids they are lucky they are so darn cute or I don't know how I'd get past the bad behavior sometimes.

 

At birth I thought the twins were the most beautiful babies ever born...now when I look back Joshie was so tiny he looked like a little mouse lol but at the time he was the most beautiful little fella. I get a lot of comments on their looks, more so Katie. I even had 2 people tell me she was prettier than her brother
I think we are all partial to our own because we see further than just a glance, we see the cute faces and the cute expressions not everyone else can see

I thought they were cute when they were born, however, now I look back and think "Oh My." They are beautiful now, they just needed alot of beauty sleep.

When strangers come up and say that my kids are adorable my response usually is "Really? You think so?". Of course I think they are adorable but I always wonder what people are REALLY thinking!

 

I agree with marieber, I'm also a minority here. My girl's were very homely looking when they were born. They are sooooo cute when they go down for bedtime though (that's because I don't have to deal with temper tantrums).
