Do you think your identicals look alike?

I don't know if my twins are frat or ID, however the majority of people think they look identical. They look very different to me, but wonder if that's normal for parents of ID twins. My parents also see them daily and are about the only other people that can tell them apart. Even I have to look at them twice occasionally to see which is which. Right now there is a 1 1/2 lb difference between the two which is how most of my family can tell them apart. Can't believe that tiny amount of weight can make such a difference! Just wondering how easy it is for parents of ID twins?

I think its normal for the parents to think the ID twins don't look alike. And the weight difference can have a big effect. My boys are identical and we know this for sure because they had TTTS. However, they were born 1.5 lbs different and are now 2 lbs different and I think they look very different. If you look at isolated features like the nose and the mouth these are the same but somehow the overall package is different. Their head shapes are different and one has a lot more hair than the other. I tired copying in a recent picture but can't get it to work. Oh well.

Your girls are so cute! I love the chubby cheeks.

Your girls do look ID. What cuties!! You are with them all the time and as a mommy you will notice all the differences.

Mine look different to me too. One is heavier and that alone makes a huge difference. One has a longer face and a big birthmark on the back of his head. For me, just recently I will mix them up for a min.

They are so identical!! My sister and I are identical twins but to this day we don't think we look alike in person. Now looking back at pictures it's amazing! We are so identical!

They definately look identical to me. We also have the same dilemma, we can tell them apart, ones head is bigger than the other, but most people think they are id.

Your girls most definitely look ID. As a parent of ID girls I also don't think mine look anything alike. I think its perfectly normal for a parent or a close relative to see all the difference. I think its a little blessing from God so we don't get them mixed up. :)

They are adorable!!! They look identical to me, too.

My boys are identical but don't look alike to me. Most strangers say they look just alike, though. Family & friends are pretty good at telling them apart b/c they know what to look for (head shape mostly), but a lot of people still get them mixed up regularly.

I had weekly ultrasounds and was in constant fear of TTTS due to low amnoitic fluids and when they were born, I was convinced they are not really identical and they put me through that for nothing. Now, i only think they look alike if they are crying. Otherwise, they look very different to me.

    My ID boys

Yours do look ID! In pictures, mine look ID to me, but I can still tell them apart. It's easier to tell them apart when they're together, side by side. Most people don't pick up on the subtle differences. Weight isn't even a difference; since birth, they've only been a few ounces apart from each other.

We don't know for sure if ours are identical but we believe they are. They have all the same features but there is a weight difference and a difference in head shape. It seem Noah was a bit smooshed in the womb while "Beefcake" Jake sat on top of him for the last few months. :D

We can tell them apart and most family members can also. But there are those days when even DH and I have to question who we have in our arms. Isn't it funny how some days they look more alike than others. I haven't figured that one out yet.

My girls looked very different for the first year at least. They were different weights and that really made a difference. It wasn't until they started reaching 25-30 lbs that your could really see the similarities because their 3lb weight difference was a smaller percentage of their total weight at that point. When they were newborns, I had people constantly asking me how much older Ainsley was and seeming shocked that they were twins (yes, it doesn't make any sense :) ).
