Do you think it is too early for 4 feedings?

Right now we are feeding 5 times - 8,12,3,6,8

We go 4 hours in the morning, 3 in the afternoon, then 2 in the evening.

The boys are surely ready to go every 3 1/2 hours - but if I do that then that only gives us 4 feedings in the day. They sleep from 8-8, so we only have 12 hours in the day to work with.

What do you guys think? Is it too early for 4 feedings?

We did 4 6-8 oz feedings at 3mos and it worked good. We also had an 8-8 schedule. (Once they hit 4mos they started to wake for another feeding again, so now they get 5 bottles again, but that's a different story...)

one of mine only gets 4 (5-6oz bottles) and is doing just great! (L is still getting up 1x at night for an extra bottle)....
I see your LO's are older than mine so I would as long as they are happy and still gaining/growing go for it!

How many ounces are they having each time? Can you work something with more ounces, if they are ready for it, in the evening so they could go to 3 1/2 hours? I say it doesn't hurt to try it, and if it doesn't work, then go back to how you were doing it. Good luck either way!

I exclusively breastfeed so I am not quite sure how much they get. When I do give a bottle, I give about 5-6 ounces.

I think if they are gaining weight and its ok with your pedi you should follow their cues. GL.

The best thing you can do is just feed them when they're hungry! Like Leighann said, if they're gaining weight, you can just follow their cues.
