I had a nursing cover made by "hooter hiders" (not kidding), but I rarely tandem fed in public. I only did once on an airplane and my DH was on one side and I used the cover on the other. Otherwise, I would just feed one at a time if we were out and about.

Make sure you visit the breastfeeding forum - lots of great ladies over there with lots of info.

P.s. - Where in MI are you? I'm up in the UP.

Thanks! I did not really nurse my 1st in public a lot either, but I figured with two and company coming over a lot, it would be nice to have something besides a blanket.

I am in the Metro Detroit area, but Dh's family has a house on Drummond Island and I love going up there!

I still breastfeed my girls and I have never used a nursing cover - my girls cannot stand to be covered. If I need to nurse them both in public I either go to a dressing room or an empty room or my van. esp. when they were tiny - it was easier for me to keep a pillow or two in my van to prop them up on than it was to juggle both babies and worry about a cover. If we were in a restaurant I just always sat in a booth and discreetly nursed one at a time I always asked for a booth in the back - we didn't go out much at that time! now I ask for a booth in the back so that no strangers get food thrown on them - we don't go out too much now either LOL!!

Now I just don't nurse with company over - but when they were younger - I would grab a blanket and cover myself if they fussed about being covered I turned my chair around - My chair (or my nest as my older kids call it) has been my well nest since I was 17 weeks pregnant with the girls! I slept in it then and sometimes still do - I used to prop the girls up with pillows and just sit there with them!! even my older kids friends knew that I was probably bf if we were in the nest!

I used to be VERY modest.... after breastfeeding twins for 2 years not so much!

I have one, but my babies also hate to be covered...they fight the cover instead of eating. If I'm having visitors, I just tell them that I'm about to nurse so they can either stay or go to another room until I'm done. With two babies, a nursing bra or tank top, plus another shirt on top, most everything is covered anyway! I was most comfortable in the beginning with nursing tank tops from Target that have flap that drop down and another shirt on top b/c the tank would cover my belly and the other shirt would fall into place around the babies' heads to cover anything that their heads didn't. As long as I had privacy to set up, it really didn't reveal much at all.

In public, I nurse one at a time or else in the car like PP said. My modesty went out the window, too. I think it's crazy to feel ashamed of using my breasts for the one thing they were actually made for when so many people show more cleavage than that on a regular day. I saw a sticker somewhere (wish I could remember where!) that said if BFing makes you uncomfortable, put a blanket over your head!!
