Do you read on bedrest?

If you are focused enought to read, what are you reading?

Personally, I look at mostly magazines. I'm finishing up a book by Carol Berkin called Revolutionary Mothers (a nonfiction about women in the Rev. War). I so wanted to read Fannie Flagg's Daisy Fae & The Miracle Man (it's so silly and light) but the bookstore didn't have it stocked. DH surprised with another one of her books today, and for once I'm excited to start a book again on bedrest. It's Standing in the Rainbow.

Let's keep chatting to pass the time. . . :)

I've read very little b/c it's been hard to concentrate with terbutaline on board. But I have read some of Elizabeth Lyons book Ready or not here we come. It's a good read..she's very funny and tells ya like it is. I also have some magazines laying around.

I've loved reading while on bedrest, it seems to make the time fly by. I read magazines, pretty much any will do. I like most books as long as they are new ones. I tried to read a few of my own much loved books and couldn't get into them. I read a really good book about the circus and can't for the life of me remember the name

I so badly want to read a nice light and witty book, but DH is really overloaded with work, household chores, DD and me that he hasn't had the chance to go to the library or bookstore. I am hoping someday he will get some time. Any good books you guys would reccomend.

I highly recommend books like "Happiest baby on the block" for soothing for those first 3 months and then "Healthy sleep habits healthy child" for sleep schedules. When the babies arrive you won't have time to read this stuff and it will really help to prepare you -- you don't have to follow anything to the letter but it will give you ideas.
I also read a breastfeeding book and it made me more familiar.

buy an easy baby book -- not too much input like a picture each month.... if you write in it now like hopes, dreams, etc. you can get you, your husband and possibly others to write in it.

Write you list of phone numbers to call in order of importance.

Groceries -- stock up on toilet paper, paper towels, maternity pads, some diapers in various sizes. Purchase food items for visitors like a quick frozen pound cake or cookies.

    I read so much online.....

I'll start stocking up and try and get DH to get the books for me.

I'm just butting in, but FWIW, I finished the last (at the time) Diana Gabaldon novel the day before my twins were born. (A Breath of Fire and Ashes, I think?) It was huge and hardcover -- very hard to hold onto in a side-lying position -- but I was highly motivated. :D

OMG, I had to post again to this thread. . . It's weird to see that I started it the day before I had the boys! I feel like the bedrest torch just gets passed on and on. . .

Wishing you all well! I still haven't finished the book DH brought me. I read it at 3:00 am after a nursing/pumping session to help me get back to sleep, haha!
