Lauren has started asking me this all the time now. When she first asked, I thought maybe she had done something wrong, but she hadn't. If she is playing and I go up to her or sometimes out of the blue she comes up to me and asks. It makes me sad to think that she questions this though.

Aww, I don't think she's questioning whether or not you really love her! How sweet that she asks you though!

This is what I was going to say. I think she is just realizing how to communicate her feelings

I don't think she doubts that you love her at all, Brandy. I think maybe she just really likes hearing you tell her. That is so sweet.

Oh, I am sure that she knows that, just hearing her ask it makes me pause. She is by far my more affectionate child. When I tell Mattie that I love her, she just says "me too".

I have one that is more affectionate also. Hannah always wants hugs and loves to snuggle up with you. She will say "I need a hug" and give you a really big hug, then, "I need a kiss too" and grab your face and kiss you. Hailey... not so often. She's too busy!

Oh, so sweet! And yes, I think she just likes hearing it out loud.

If it bothers you try telling her every hour or 2 hours and see if it changes things. She may be just going though a phase where she needs the reassurance. My DS will come up at random times and tell me he loves me. It is great.

I agree with pp's. I am sure she just likes hearing it. I get how it makes you stop and question it though. Coop has started asking me "Are you happy mom?" It makes me wonder if I seem unhappy alot. ^_^

OMG, me too! Ivy does that to me lately. (And it makes me wonder the exact same thing! )

I think it's sweet and definitely as pp suggested, just looking for reassurance and figuring out her emotions.

As for the unhappy comments above, mine will ask "are you nice mommy today?" because I made the mistake of telling them one day when I was having a bad day and yelled a little too much that I was sorry for not being nice mommy that day. :fool:
