i am starting to think a lot about how i'm going to deliver these babies. do you know how you will? i'm curious as to how many others have talked to their ob about it and what will happen.

my ob said they won't induce me, that if both babies are in position they will attempt vaginal when i go into labor. (but if B isn't in position, then it depends on which ob is on call) since they won't induce me, it seems like i will either go into labor on my own, or at 38 weeks have a scheduled c.

i wish i had a crystal ball to look into the future and know what/when!

I knew because I had a previous c-section and opted for another with my twin pregnancy. I had a date for my c-section at about 10 weeks. :D

We are going to try for a vaginal delivery as long as twin A stays head down. She's been low and engaged for weeks now so I don't think she'll be able to, but I guess you never know. Twin B is breech, but because they are the same size my OB says we should be ok. She will try to turn twin B or do a breech extraction if need be.

 well...basically my OB has said it is up to me. (sigh) -- my boys are both head down (yah!!) so vaginal is defintly an option. My OB also doesn't want to do an induction -- but he is willing to let me go until 39 week (ouch!) -- and my Peri is adamet that since they are ID (and share a placenta) that after 37 weeks, he would rather have them out then in (I also have chronic hypertention - so there's a higher risk of things like placental abrupbtion too etc.) -- but he doesn't do deliveries. So, I'm kind of in dilema land. With the boys sharing a placenta there is also the chance of acute TTTS -even at delivery -- so there's that to concider too. So, if I didn't have all these "extra" issues -- I'd be going vaginal no question -- but with everything else -- I'm just stumped completly.

I asked my OB about this a few weeks back. She basically said that they'll wait for me to go into labour and hopefully Baby A will be head down and we can do a vaginal birth. They won't stop labour after 34 weeks.

I unfortunately don't have much choice. I want to deliver vaginal, but my OB doesn't like to deliver twins that way. He says there can be too many complications. So I'm 99 percent sure I'm having a c-section.

My presenting baby is breech, so it looks like a c-section for me. I'm ok with either, just want what is best for the babies!

I'm pretty sure I'm having a C-section...that's what my doctor said at my last appointment. Baby A is head down, but Baby B is Breech.

My doctor feels that we will deliver vaginally...He said as long as baby A is head down (and had been up to this point). I guess time will tell...things may change :)

My doc said if baby A is head down we will go for a vag, but I will be having an epidural regardless in case I need an emergency c-sec. I was glad to hear that cuz I did natural with my dd and don't want to go through that again especially if I need a breech extraction. I'm really trying to be as open minded as possible and just do whatever the doc says and not have hopes or expectations (no birth plan). I just want healthy babies like we all do!!!

I will be having a c section because my OB doesn't do VBAC's. My babies are also sharing a placenta and it's my understanding that a vaginal delivery puts us all at an increased risk for issues during that kind of delivery, so a c section it is. I'm kind of glad I didn't have to make that decision, because it would be a tough one to make!

I'm definitely having a C because I had fourth degree tearing with my son. I'd be risking too much nerve damage to do anything else.

    I'm having a c-section.

I am a twin, and I grew up hearing the horror story of our birth told over and over again. My mother and brother are both lucky to be alive today, and their lives were saved by an emergency c-section. I won't repeat the story here, because I don't believe anyone here truly would be well-served to hear it--after all, the world of obstetrics and medicine in general have changed a lot in 30 years--but it has strongly affected my desire for a c-section birth.

I want my birth experience to be a positive as possible. I don't want to find myself in a position where I am terrified, the doctors are in a hurry, and I feel out of control of my situation. For me, a scheduled c-section will take that uncertainty out of the equation and allow my doctors the leisure to do what is best for me and my babies from the outset.

i'm currently 36w3d and both babies are head down. i've wanted to try a vaginal birth all along and even did acupuncture to get my transverse baby B to flip (which she did at 34 wks). my OB will only deliver vag. if BOTH my babies are head down. now that i am so close, however, i am getting nervous (these are my first children) and am also getting so uncomfortable i hope i go into labor soon... i've made peace with the fact that if i have to have a c-section for the safety of the babies, then i certainly will. i'm just getting impatient and want to meet these girls!

I am hoping for a vag birth! Baby A is head down and Baby B also migrated to a head down position (yay baby!). My OB said I was a good candidate for a vag birth so that made me happy. He's super skilled with complicated deliveries and has written academic articles on twin (including breech deliveries) so I feel extremely confident in his ability to give me a safe delivery--whether that is vag or c-section. I see him on Monday so hopefully we can discuss this more.

Hoping for a vaginal delivery. Peri said as long as Baby A is head down we can do that, if both are head down it would be even better. If Baby A is head u, then a C section would be required. Peri said that he doesn't let twin mommas go past 38 weeks, so looking at sometime during 37th week to deliver (that is when he is planning on taking my stitch out)

my doc said as long as both babies are head-down, she'll encourage a vaginal. but i'm most likely getting a c-section.
