I have heard a lot of people talk about keeping track of babies basic needs, changes, feedings, etc.. in the form of a schedule. Having not had children before and at 33 weeks I am thinking I should be prepared to try this at least. Does anyone have something like this that was helpful which you would be willing to share? If so, please PM me, etc..

Otherwise, opinions and suggestions about this would be helpful.

I just took one of those big yellow pads of paper and drew a line down the middle, put one babies name on each side. I put s for sleep, e for eat and how long/ounces. Example: S 730-830, E 4 ounces 845. It was very simple and helped me keep up with them. I always changed them at pretty much the same times so I did not write that down.

This is such a good idea - I have done it with all of my children - but it is a MUST for me with the twins - I cannot keep track of anything and am constantly referring to my piece of paper...I have a friend who came around and asked me what it was... and when I told him, he laughed.... but I am sure if he was in my shoes - he would have some sort of documentation.

I started with a whiteboard - but have now gone to a pad.

I have kept both my boys 'books' with the schedules that I did so I can show them later on in life how hectic it actually was and when they have their own children they can reflect back on it....and realise we have all BTDT.....

I think it is great that you are thinking ahead....

    Good luck

I also just split a piece of paper down the middle. I kept track of time they ate & when they pooped. It's funny, when you're changing that many diapers, my husband & I could look at each other at the end of the day & not have a CLUE who we changed when or what was in it! I never kept track of napping...in the beginning they just slept whenever they wanted to anyway!

    GOOD LUCK!

We use & still use a small dry erase board that works great!
We put the two names at the top draw a line down the center and then put time & how much they drank.

    Godd Luck!

We used a full-sized notebook that had tabs. Each baby had a tab. We drew lines down the paer so we had separate columns for the following: time of feeding, amt of feeding (mine were formula fed), diaper (BM or wet) and the nap between feedings. We also had another column for when we gave meds or stuff like that (DD was on reflux meds) or if was particularly odd BM or stuff like that. I would have been lost without this notebook. It was such a help to us.

I have a spiral notebook. I don't like the whiteboard b/c it's not permanent and I always take the notebook w/ me to ped appts.

Each page I divide in half (top half, bottom half) Top is for Maya, bottom for Sofia. Then I make columns: Time, Feeding, Pee, Poo, Notes
