I'm in the prep stage, and want to get a glider (NOW would be nice, since there is no place comfortable to get this preggo body into!)

I've heard from lots of people that every penny they spent on the more high-end gliders was worth it, but also from others that they've beeen fine with the less expensive models.

Thanks for sharing your experiences - I am planning on breastfeeding, and not sure I can fit TWO in a glider with me (although Dutailer makes one that is approx 4" wider than most; it's also about $750 for the glider and ottoman, which doesn't include shipping or wait time).

    Any input is appreciated!

I say get a GOOD glider. We registered for a low end glider (and got it) and it FELL APART!! I breastfed both babies at the same time in that chair and it didn't hold up after only 3 months. Literally, the arms were falling off of it. We took it back to the store and they gave us credit to use for another glider. We got a VERY nice one and LOVE it. The people at BRU ( where we got it) said that the one we got the first time was their lowest end model and they don't recommend it to anyone unless they won't be using it much.
I don't use a twin boppy (I have one, just doesn't work for me). I just use the boppy called ""my breast friend" and it fits great in the chair. (It fit in the other one too)
Just my thoughts...the gliders are pricey, but worth it.

I have the x-tra wide Dutailer. I LOVE it. I could rock both girls at the same time and they are almost 6 months old and pushing 20lbs and we all 3 still fit in it. It is great. But mine was more like $900 for the chair & ottoman. AND it took almost 8 weeks to get here. I ordered from USA Baby, I wasn't pleased w/ them entirely. But that's another story. I think it was well worth it. I has helped us many nights at 3 & 4 and watching the sun come up.
Anyway, maybe you can ask close family to go in together and get it for you. My mom, mil, sil, etc... went and got it for my birthday and shower gift.
    HTH!

I wanted a glider but could not afford the super expensive ones, ones that can fit two babies, so I passed up. Santa.. brought me a nice one for christmas from walmart. Wide enough to hold two babies, not big enough for the EZ2 pillow but I hardly use it anyway.

If you have the room for it... I have this: cedar patio glider. DH put a finish on it to match the wood in the room and I put a cushion on to make it more comfortable (although it was surprisingly comfortable without the cushion). Not only did I have room for the EZ pillow and to load & unload newborn babies for tandem nursing, I have room now for two toddlers, Mommy, and Daddy to sit and read stories. Love it, love it, love it!

my brand is 'shermag' and i got it at brs- i love it- it is pretty wide- i got a wide one because i planned on nursing but never ended up doing so. if you were to nurse, it would be a great chair. it is not huge but it is a little wider than others.

I bought a loveseat glider from sofa express. It is fantastic since there was room for me and two babies and soemtime my toddler. It will be great in the future for all of us to cuddle on and read books and hopefully the girls will use it into their teen years...hopefully. It was very hard to find a loveseat glider and the onlyplace I found one was sofa express - it was about $800

My 2nd Mom gave me a glider and I've never used it. Billy uses it to play his video games.
