Do you get showered and ready before the kids get up or during their nap?

I'm not a morning person so I usually wait until they nap....but it would probably be best to get ready first thing in the morning.

 

If I don't have a photo shoot to get up and get ready for, then I usually shower during their nap...I'm not a morning person either

 

I shower at night before bed when they are sleeping.

 

Depends on if I have to do something or not. If not, I wait until nap time. Otherwise, I have to get up about 6:30 before DH leaves because the girls have started getting up earlier since moving to big beds. I am NOT a morning person either, so that doesn't make me very happy!! <_< Also, there have been days, like today, when they don't nap until 3:00 and by then, I don't want to mess with it.

 

When my girls were still napping at 10 and 2, I would wait until their first nap...on the days I worked from home, I would get on the treadmill and then shower before they got up at 12.

Now that they take just one nap (at 1 pm), Ishower before they get up and work out after they go to bed!

 

It just depends on the day. Some days I shower while they nap, or before they get up. Sometimes I wait until DH gets home that way I can stay in there longer and soak!

 

I must be the odd duck out. I put them in a safe place, and then I shower. When they were tiny, it was strapped in their swing. When they were a bit older, it was strapped in their highchair while watching Baby Einstein. Now that they are older, I set up a toy or two and then get ready. Sometimes, I will turn a movie on and they can sit in my bed or on the couch.

I have never purposefully gotten up early to take a shower, and I could not wait until nap time since I feel gross until a take a shower. So I just do it in the morning when they are happy and well behaved.

 

I shower and get ready while my DH is still home. He gets up and showers, then the girls wake up, we both take them downstairs and give them their sippys then I go shower and get ready - if we are running late because the girls got up late than DH starts their b-fast while I finish getting ready.

 

I get ready early in the morning sometimes they are awake and sometimes they are not. If they are I put them in the mini crib in my room with some books and turn on elmo. I don't wait until a specific time.

 

I take my shower at night. My DH leaves at 5:30am and there is no way I am getting up to get in the shower before he leaves.

Nope, I do the same thing.
If the baby isn't up before me, I'll hop in real quick and get dressed, but he's a light sleeper so that's pretty rare. I usually put him in the jumper or exersaucer outside the bathroom door and he plays while I get dressed. I'm so gross when I get up in the mornings and I usually like to get errands done before lunch...I'd scare people if I waited! :lol:

 

ditto on the pp...get my shower at night... I get dressed in the morning right after breakfast along with the kids... if I'm really fast, then I'll get dressed before bfast!

 

I shower whenever. The kids are usually awake. My house is very kid friendly, so they just play until I get out. I leave the door open!

 

I've used a combo of all of the above. When they were still not very mobile, I'd put on a dvd and take a quick shower. I've also stuck them in the Pack'n'Play. Then when I couldn't do that anymore I started showering during their morning nap. Now they don't nap at all. Until recently I was showering at night. Then I got my hair cut short and I need to blow-dry it in the morning to make it look nice. So these past 2 weeks I've put on a dvd, told the boys that mama was going to have a shower, and I'd do it. Most of the time they ignore the dvd and come sit in the bathroom or their bedroom. Aiden likes to stick his hand in the water spray too. lol

 

My kids get up early enough as it is between 6-6:45am so I wait until their nap at around 10:30am and take a shower eat and relax for 20min or so before lunch at 12pm.

 

I always shower at night when they are sleeping, and in the morning, I get up with them, change diapers & feed them breakfast and then get dressed and ready for work......I have my vanity in the bedroom, so they play around me while I;m getting ready.....it works pretty well.....

 

When they were on two naps, the first nap was around 9:00, so I took a shower then. Now I either take a quick shower when I first hear them waking, or I take it after breakfast, before DH goes to work. I shower and dress very quickly, like in 15 min, so I don't need a whole lot of time. If we are going somewhere in the morning and I want to look decent, like hair done and make up on, I get up before them.
Before they were mobile, I would just put them in their cribs and take a shower.

 

Mine are way past the napping stage. At that age though I used to either shower when they napped or I would put on a Baby Einstein tape and put them in their bouncers to watch it. Now they usually just walk into the bathroom everytime I take a shower.

I'm pretty much the same way. I strap them into their bouncies or exersaucers to watch Sesame Street after their morning sippy of milk. If I wash my hair, it goes up in a towel and gets dried after they eat breakfast. They are fat and happy and willing to have some independent playtime in their playroom. Also, I have a direct view from the bathroom to monitor any hair pulling!

 

I just "plug 'em in" to the tv and run in and take a shower. Our house is very small and if anyone roams from the tv area or if anyone cries out, I still hear it in the shower. I am in there for a max of 10 minutes.
I think I'm just lucky that we don't watch a lot of tv, so when I turn on the tv they actually pay attention to it.

 

I generally shower before they get up.

 

I usually am OUT the door and going to work by 6:45 am, so I usually shower early in the morning 6 AM. If I'm home, like this summer...it varies...sometimes I shower while they are watching sesame street (that keeps them occupied) or I'll shower at night.

I'm right there with you. If I am up early, I will shower. Otherwise, I do it while they are engaged in some sort of activity (movie, coloring) and I leave the door open. Then I get Nolan in the bathroom saying "Ya in there, Mama?"

 

If my girls woke up at 7am or later, I would probably do it in the am. However, since they wake between 5 and 6 and we all get up at 6, I just can't wake up any earlier than that. Therefore, I take it during their nap or most days, I take it before I go to bed at night.

 

Both for me. Depends on my mood (in the morning of course) and whether or not we have to go anywhere in the morning.

 

My bath and shower are near their bedrooms and so I don't do it while they are asleep. I just abyproofed really well and do it with the babes watching me in the bathroom. They have toys and I sing to them or whatnot.

 

During the week I do it before they get up and then I am off to work. On the weekends, I also usually set them up with an activity or video and do it then.

 

i shower whenever I get a chance, if they are up, I put on a movie and let them watch that while i have a shower.
or I have one the night before after they are in bed.

 

Since their birth, I always have gotten up much earlier than the kids and taken a shower/worked before they get up.

 

I'd say about 97% of the time I shower before they get up. I normally hit the gym at 5:45am on weekdays, then shower there and head home (DH gets up with them if they wake before the nanny gets there at 7am). And on Sunday I get up and shower before they wake up, so we can all be ready for church on time.

Once in a while I shower when they nap.
