Do you find the Stride Rite outlet store much cheaper than the Stride Rite in the mall?

We have a Stride Rite outlet about 35 minutes away, but we've been extremely crunched for time lately and I haven't gotten the chance to get out there and look at their prices. They've been spending more and more time outside and since Lily's walking I really want to get her a pair of good walking sandals soon.

I was just wondering if it is worth it in savings to get out to the Stride Rite outlet store soon, or not really since it takes over an hour of my day and then there's the cost of gas too. Should I just go to the mall that is 15 minutes away? Just wondering if there is a big price difference. I think I'll wait until Grace walks inside on her own before I buy her some, so for now I just need one pair.

I just got mine tennis shoes and sandals at the outlet. The sandals were $17.99 regularly $29.99 and the tennis shoes were $24.99 regularly $36.99. You do save some $$$. But I also find that there "buy one get one 1/2 off" sales save just as much sometimes.

We only get our Stride Rite shoes at the outlet and I find them a lot cheaper compared to the store. Also like the PP mentioned they usually have a buy1 get 1 half off! Saves a lot! Since we are there we usually check out the Ralph Lauren and Carters Outlet.

ETA- I think they gave us a twin discount too!

Yes, I have found that the outlet is cheaper than the mall store. I need to get to our outlet too.

I agree with the pp's. You are going to save at least 40%-50% at the outlet and frequently even more than that. If you just had one kid it might not be worth it with the price of gas and the time spent but with two kids (or more), you should check it out. The outlet store I go to is really big and the selection is great. You might even want to buy additional shoes in bigger sizes and save them for later so you don't have to make another trip when they're ready for the next size.

I've only been once, and the prices were fantastic. $20-$25, for what the regular store sells for $40-$50.

I've also found Stride Rite well priced at www.kidsurplus.com, if you don't mind shopping online. You can have your DC measured at the Stride Rite store, then order from there.
