I have been drinking one cup a day of coffee, and I have heard conflicting info, not sure if this is bad for the babies, but I know it sure helps me get through the day! Does anyone else drink coffe, or not drink it?

Didn't early on - it takes a long time to get through their system when they're tiny - am more and more, now. The adrenalin wore off and I really need it now!

Absolutely! Me without coffee is not a good thing (yes, I have a problem, lol!)

I've cut way, way, way back from pre-pregnancy days, but still have a couple of large cups a day. When they were really little and I was bf what felt like all. the. time. I limited myself to one large cup/day.

I have 1-2 cups of coffee a day, and I've never noticed any effect on the babies. Drink up, you deserve it! :)

and my high energy two year old!

I have two cups of regular coffee in the morning. anything beyond that I do decaf - sometimes I like an afternoon latte.

I drink an insane amount of coffee! Probably atleast a half pot by lunchtime. You wouldnt want to know me without coffee! I was miserable when I was pregnant with only decaf!

the nurse in the hospital told me 1 cup/day was fine. pre-pg, i drank only decaf. the 1st morning we were home with the boys, dh brought me a cup of regular, and i've been back on "leaded," as i call it, ever since. just 1 cup a day for me, though. i figure that plus my glass of red wine in the evenings is enough! ;)

1-2 cups a day since they were born, never seemed to affect anything here, besides me being alert enough to tackle the day!!

HA One cup?? I drank at least 4 and then some MTDew later on in the day. My LC said that if they werent fussy caffine was no problem, but to avoid Diet pop as it will just increase the rate your bones loose calcium, and you could become defficient while nursing (I even know one lady who had teeth absess because of this). Mine were/are fine I am sure your one cup a day is fine.

    Do you take milk?

I normally take my coffee with milk, like 75% coffee, 25% milk. During pregnancy and bfing I flipped those perportions, 75% milk 25% coffee.

My head starts pounding if I don't get it! I am officially addicted and I never drank coffee before the girls were born!!!

I drink about 1 cup/day, but had to give up milk (ds allergy)....I miss my lattes, but rice milk adds a little of the "cream" effect....ok, not really...it's better than nothing ;-)

I didn't drink anything but decaf during the pregnancy and I have MORE than made up for it now. I EBF and I drink 1/2-1 POT a day along with mountain dew too..lol It doesn't seem to affect the girls at all.

You can use "non dairy creamer" on a no dairy diet, I did.

I don't drink coffee, but I do drink ridiculous amounts of diet coke...which apparently will make my bones fall apart (thanks for that one Briana!!!).

;) You are so welcome!! I would much rather live by "ignorace is bliss" when it comes to MY health, wouldnt you!! Sorry to have ruined all that is pure and good with your Diet Coke addiction!

OMG, seriously, with the twins and my 3-yr old, I would not be able to function without my coffee!! I have at least 1 cup in the morning, and usually work on a 2nd cup throughout the morning and early afternoon. Heck, Friday I had to have a cup at 6:00 p.m. b/c I'd been up since 2:30 a.m.!!

Yep, I'm a terrible mama - just finished off a glass of red wine, too!!
