I've been boiling the babies water for formula, but I can't remember when I stopped with my daughter. We have town water so it's clean/good. Is this still necessary?? TIA! :D

The girls are my first and I've been asking the same question! There doesn't seem to be one answer. A lot of people say they use filtered water or that if you drink it, it's ok. Maybe you'll have better luck getting one answer to this.

We buy purified water. We are told our municipal water is "safe" but I of a few class-action lawsuits against our water company due to high rates of birth defects and miscarriages - and the water company LOST, so while the water passes regulations and standards, it has high levels of chemical contaminants that are not very well regulated.

That being said, we don't drink the water ourselves, we don't boil it, we buy purified water delivered to our door until we find a filter we can trust.

I would take the name of your water company to your ped and ask him. They usually have lists for fluoridation levels so they should know. Ours was safe but we ended up using Nursery Water anyway.

We boiled for the first 3 months and then used Nursery Water.

The latest and greatest news and research says that we shouldn't be giving our infants water with fluoride added (high amounts can be toxic and can cause fluorosis):

    And: http://www.ewg.org/node/25951

    Just FYI.

It's just so confusing, do this, do that, don't do this, don't do that. Damned if we do, damned if we don't. ;-)

Anyway, we just buy regular purified water.
