Do you bathe them every day?

My girls are feeding themselves and making HUGE messes when they eat. Josie especially, since she feels the need to rub her hands in her hair after every bite of food! So I feel like I have to bathe them every night. But it's winter, and they both have such dry skin. Do you guys bathe them every day? Maybe I should just wash her hair in the sink? Any ideas?

i've been bathing them every night for the most parts. Every now and then we are too tired, but mainly just for the routine. They had really dry skin, so the doctor told us to lather them with lotion before dressing them in their pjs. When i say lather, i mean lather. They are completely white when we are down with them. their pjs stick to them a alittle but they don't have dry skin anymore. we do that also to our older son, gavin.

    hope that helped.

I bathe them every night before bed. I make sure to use LOTS of lotion so they don't get dry skin.

We bath every night also! Just lather them in lotion and they should be good to go.

We bath every other day. They love their baths, but I don't feel they need baths/shampoos every night. It's dry enough around here...

I try to bathe mine every other day. I love the way they smell after a bath.

We give them baths about every other day. Sometimes their head and neck get smelly so I just scrub their upper half down really quick over the sink. Bathing them every day of the week would be unnecessary.

We bathe them every other night. But I can see what you mean. Along with table food/self-feeding comes a mess. I will probably start every night baths real soon. Their skin is not dry now, but I'd probably lotion them if I bathe daily.

We are every other night here. I have never given any of my children a bath every night. My oldest is every other night too and we have her the opposite night. I find it exhausting on the few nights we bathe all 3 of them. Every other night has always worked well for us.

Every other night here too (unless there's been a poop catastrophe) [IMG]

I bathe as part of our night time schedule, but if something came up and we were out later than usual and it was getting late, than i will skip it but i think it lets them know that its time to start getting ready for bed.

I do bathe them every night, but I only use the hair/body wash on their hair and behinds. I go over the rest with water and a washcloth only. After the bath I use Baby Bee (Burts Bees) lotion on them. It is so good and doesn't make them break out at all. It smells really good too. My dh and I bathe them together in the rub at the same time. On the nights my dh works late, I bathe them one at a time. One baby plays with toys on the floor while I bathe/dress/feed the other.

We didn't have hair that early, but now we do and they rub food in their hair and I just wipe it up with with a wet cloth as best I can and then the next day they have crunch hair.... better than being dry and chapped all over [IMG]

We don't bathe them every day and didn't when they were younger either. Their skin gets pretty dry as it is, I don't want to dry it out anymore.

We do Sunday, Tues, Thurs and Saturday for big sister, and Monday, Wed, Fri and Saturday for the twins. It is the best I can do.

We did. It was just easier to do it every night and incorporate it into their bedtime routine.

Now that they are better at feeding themselves, we occasionally skip a day here or there if we are busy. But they love their baths, and need them to settle down!

We bathe every other day. Right now we are using baby oil to moisturize during the night and lotion during the day.

We bathe our kids mon-wed-fri. So far so good but I will soon need to bathe them every day and quite frankly dreading it because it is so much work. I lather the kids with lotion as well. My daughter still seems to have drier skin.

Funny you should ask this question. I do every other night, but my boys had their one year pedi appt Monday and the doc commented on how dry their skin was. First, I have bi-racial babies. I am white, my DH black...so one of my boys is ashy...the other has slightly dry skin. Anyways, please try this cuz I have "been there done that". I WAS using lotion (any, they are all the same) in the mornign and at night. BUT, the best thign to do is after their bath, pat them dry, don't wipe, then immediately following the bath rub AQUAFOR on them. You can find it at a drug store. It is kinda tuff to rub on compared to the lotion, but man, when my boys wake up in the morning, their skin is SOOOOO soft it is amazing. Then in the morning, I only need to put lotion on them! GOOD LUCK!
