Do they need pillows?

Is there any reason why they should have pillows? They are great sleepers and have never asked for pillows, so I just haven't bothered. Is sleeping without them going to mess up their necks or something?

I've heard that sleeping without a pillow is actually better for you. My girls don't have pillows in their cribs, but love to lay on our bed and couch pillows. It's only a matter of time before they ask for their own. If your kids aren't asking for pillows, I wouldn't rush out to get them.

Ours have pillows. I gave them pillows at about 20m or so... now that they have them they cant sleep with out them. I dont know if theres a benefit to sleeping with or without them though.

My twins sleep without pillows. DD1 is 3.5yrs and she just got her 1st pillow because she asked for it.

I don't know if they "need" it. We had decorative pillows that came with the crib set, and they just started using them on their own around 18 months or so. I've done the opposite of having way too much stuff that they must sleep with or life will be over. They have two pillows now actually, to keep their options open. I think they are at three blankets each now too.

Mine will be three in March and I just gave them pillows this month. I don't think they need them, but they seem to like them. :)

Naomi and Luke only just got pillows in the last month and they are nearly four. They only got them now because they had bad coughs/congestion and needed to be raised up a bit at night.

I don't think you need to give them pillows if they are happy without, they will probably ask for them on their own eventually.

I just gave my girls pillows last week. They slept fine without them but had started bunching up their blankets and everything else in their cribs under their heads. So I felt a pillow would be better.

I don't see any reason to give them pillows if they don't want/need them.

we gave our boys blankets/pillows for Xmas. They actually are completely attached to them now. When I go to check on them before going to sleep they are often laying on top of the smushed up blanket instead of having it over them, but the pillow is now being employed for its intended purposes most of the time.

Joe loves his so much he's started demanding that it come with him to the playroom in the morning.
