Do they always have to be right on top of each other?

My girls are crawling all over so we put up a big fence around our family room. It is about 8' x 10' with plenty of room to move around, so why do they have to be right next to each other all. the. time?! It's cute but considering that they also tend to smack/pull hair/scratch at each other's eyes it gets a little tiring having to constantly go over and separate them. I'm glad they like each other so much, but I'm looking forward to them understanding the word "gentle".

They really are super-cute though. :)

There really isn't anything you can do, but take LOTS of pictures now because very soon you will never be able to get them both in the same shot :)

Both of mine have lots of teeth and someone ends up finding a foot, hand, head.... It is so cute to watch them. Funny how they don't always look at each other but will know the other is right there, like holding hands. One thing a singleton mom will never experience.

My boys are the smae... they especially ned to be near eachother in the crib.... The first one to wake up makes it a game to get the other to wake up too!! If its Peyton sleeping though, it takes a lot to wake that kid up....lol Asutin gets very frustrated!!

I love that stage! Mine were never that big into climbing on each other and luckily never hit/bit/etc. But I loved it when they started to interact

Mine steal toys from each other sometimes! They also roll over each other. They also babble at each other and make each other laugh now  . They've really started interacting more recently.

I always wonder that too! I also wonder why they want the toy the other one has??

Oh yes, toy stealing is a common occurence here now too. And even if you give them the exact same toy, the one sister has is always better. The funniest is right after they get up from their nap, Sophie will still have her pacifier in her mouth. Avery crawls over and pops it right out. It makes the cutest little *pop* sound. Sophie gets mad and steals it back. On and on until I intervene, but it's hard to stop since Avery doesn't really want the paci (she hasn't used one in at least 6 months), she just likes popping it out, so even if I give her another one it's not the same to her.

Same thing here. The boys always wind up on top of each other and lots of accidental hair pulling, smacking and scratching. I separate them to opposite sides of the room and within minutes they are together again in a big heap. The need for togetherness seems one sided though. Quentin is much more interested in Jimmy and Jimmy has a full head of hair that Quentin delights in pulling vigorously. Jimmy is very sensitive and since they are not crawling yet he can't move away quickly so I usually have to pick him up to soothe him after a few minutes and he then protests loudly when I try to put him back down. The toy snatching is done mostly by thier older sister...

awe it sounds cute! But I totally know what you mean, mine do the same thing! Someone always winds up in a position to get repeatedly kicked in the face by her sister. Always, no matter how far apart I put them, they wiggle back together and line up so that one is kicking the other in the face.
