Do the good days stop at some point?

I am 36 weeks today. Up until about a week ago I felt pretty good and had no problem taking care of my kids, the house, ect. I had good days and bad days, but for the most part the bads days were few and far between and usually followed a day in which I had clearly pushed myself too hard. Suddenly, that seems to have changed. Just getting my girls and myself dressed, fed, and out the door to our scheduled activities exhausts me. I'm also finding stairs and long walks to be painful.

Today, my DH and I took the girls to the mall for lunch and to Build a Bear to make bears for the twins, and I couldn't even walk to the car afterwards. My DH had to go get it and pick me up at the mall entrance. Fortunately, my DH and my mom have been great at helping me with the kids and taking over just about everything, but I miss doing things with my girls.

So I am wondering if this is just how it will be until I deliver.

I think it's great that you've been feeling so good until now. :good: I hope it was just a bad day where you pushed it too far and today you are feeling much better. I started feeling how you described around 32 weeks, where anything I did would get me exhausted. :lazy:

Yup, you should take it easy the rest of your pregnancy. When I hit about 30 weeks I just couldn't do anything anymore. I couldn't walk from my desk to the lunchroom without having to take a break. Thankfully I went on bedrest right after that and didn't have to do anything!

Wow! It's great you made it that far before having those problems. I've felt that way since about week 26 or so! My hubby has to push me around in a wheelchair whenever we go somewhere that we have to walk. I wish I had more energy to get things done around the house and do more with my 2 year old... but oh, well.

Congrats by the way on making it to 36! You are almost done! Can't wait to hear your birth story!

If you're a wimp then you've got company. :friends:
All I can say is this is the worst I've ever felt in my life.

I envy everyone who has these pregnacies they can work with, chase the kids, shop, and just live with the condition! :bow2:
It wears me out just to vaccum or do laundry somedays. I would force myself to do housework, shopping, etc then pay for it tenfold for two days after. Last visit they just told me to rest, do what I feel, putter around and smell the flowers.

Dow maybe it's just time to let up a bit and relax. You might have just over did it and came out rougher for it. I really hope it was just an off day! May the rest of your pregnancy be smooth sailing!

probably but you are so close!!! Not much longer, hang in there you are dong amazing!!!

I was gong going until the day I had them at 36W3D. I was getting much more tired and had all the aches and pains but when you have 2 other kids, you can't let being tired or discomfort stop you. I did go to Costco at 36W with my 2 kids and took the automatic cart for the first time. My kids loved it but I was so embarrassed to be sitting on that.

Wow, I am actually glad to hear you say that things have been good for you up to this point. I will be 33 weeks this Friday and have been thinking "when is the bottom going to fall out of my basket." LOL When I first found out it was twins I was thinking for sure that things were going to get really bad early on. I started thinking I was going to have to give up batheing my son, rocking him to sleep at night, playing and taking walks with my girls. So far I have been able to continue with all of that stuff. I have some days that are not so great and of course the discomfort of trying to find a good way to sleep set in much earlier than with my singletons. But overall, I am still able to do what I did before and feel good doing it.
I have decided to stop working after this week mainly because I had thought I would be at the point where I needed to so I gave my employer and co-workers a good advanced notice. I feel like I could continue to work (I work a desk job) but hey, why not enjoy some down time! I also have set up to move downstate with my parents at 35 weeks (on advice from my peri) to be closer to the hospital and thinking I would need extra help with the kids by that point but maybe not?
Hopefully, it was just that you over worked yourself the other day but if not, feel good that you made it this far before you stopped having the good days and remember....you only have a short time left before you are holding those beautiful babies!!

    GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING.

WOW!! YAY for you making it this far and still going great! That's encouraging for me--even though I've already cut back on all the lifting and long walks, I'm hoping to continue as much as possible for as long as possible.......I agree it's about necessary when you have other little ones--but when/if the time comes and I CAN'T, for the health of my babies and me, I'll stop! Lots can be done from my bedroom, I'm sure!! Snugly book reading, craft stuff, etc.....and they can go with friends for playdates at the park!

Congratulations on feeling pretty good for the majority of your pregnancy!! :yahoo: That is GREAT news :)
I hit my 'wall' earlier than you, but when I did I found everything just pretty dang exhausting....
Hang in there! Won't be too much longer

I'm still hanging in here and I'm pretty sure I know why I'm suddenly so uncomfortable. Both babys have dropped to the point where if Baby A was any lower he'd be out and Baby B is right behind him. Add in the fact that they are measuring 6 lbs 10 oz and 7lb 1 oz and it's no wonder I'm finding walking rough. I'm pretty sure that I'm on the verge of labor since I'm up all night with contractions and they 're getting more frequent during the day. Hopefully I'll make it to my c-section on Monday, but the boys should be fine if I go into labor in the next few days.

If you are just hitting that point now, you've been very lucky! I hit it at about 28 weeks.
