Do I need to buy larger binkis when they get older?

I have the NUK orthodontic binkis....I think they are made by Gerber. I saw on the package that the ones I have are for 0-6 months and the next size up is for 7-18 months. Do you think it matters that my girls are still using the smaller ones? They only use them during naps and at bedtime....since they turned 9 months.

I don't know ... my kids use the 0-3 month Soothies still. I did get them the older ones but they almost seem to "heavy" for them, they prefered the other ones so I've just kept them.

As long as you change them every so often I don't think it really matters if you are going up the size or not. They make them bigger since their mouths are growning. I go up the size so the part they are chewing on is bigger and takes up more space in their mouth (so if they are teething they chew on that). But that is just my preferance, but you are supposed to change them and check them frequently to see if there is any wear in them or holes.

I just found out, like pp said, that you are supposed to change them every couple of months. I don't know if you have to go up in size, maybe your pedi can tell you, but definitely buy new ones for the simple fact that the rubber breaks down.

Jake is still on the small ones, I have tried giving him the bigger ones and he just stares at them.

I switched Lily to the bigger one around 8 months (she's my only paci user).

Lauren is on the larger pacis (we use the mimi ones). Mattie kind of gags on it, so she is still on the small ones.

When I first read your post I thought it said bikinis  I need sleep!

I thought the same thing! Definitely need sleep!

I don't think the size really matters as long as it isn't too big for them.

I don't think it really matters. I tried getting bigger ones b/c I saw the age, too (I use the Nuk, too) but they wouldn't take them! Just for the heck of it, I bought bigger ones last week to see if they'd take them and DS spit it out the first couple times, but now he'll take it if he doesn't have a smaller one around.

When my nephew was born, my sister accidentally bought the bigger size but he took it just fine & has always used the big ones.
