I am only about 17 weeks pregnant, and feel huge and bulky all the time, by the end of the day, I feel the sides of my stomach, hurting they feel like they are being stretched too much. I am wondering if a maternity belt might alieve some of the pressure i am feeling, and if anyone had any recommendations as to which one worked for them.

I would have never made it without my belt. It took so much pressure off my back and felt like it helped support my belly. I never went a day without it. I definitely recommend one. I borrowed mine from a coworker, but she got it from Motherhood.

I am 23 weeks and have had a belt for about the last three. It has made a huge difference. I was struggling with the weight of the babies as I am a small build and it has just eased the pressure off my back. I highly recommend one.

  4. yes.....I was hurting so bad by 20 weeks. Although once put on bed rest I did not use it much. The belly band is too flimsy. I bought one online for $50 that had a large back support section as well as the belly support. Look at your choices brfore buying!!!

I have one I borrowed, a Loving Comfort Maternity Support belt. It's a little uncomfortable (I think it's slightly too small at this point in pregnancy)--just the scratchiness if it's next to my skin--but it really does help quite a bit if I'm doing much standing/walking around at all. At this point I can barely walk but if I wear the belt, I can squeeze a little more activity into my day without as much pain.

    I used a prenatal cradle.
They have a ton for sale on ebay. they also sell them at like medical supply stores - my doctor recommended it. If your doctor will write you a script "prescribing" one, alot of insurance companies will even cover them because they are considered durable medical equipment.

I also saw the chiropractor alot during my pregnancy from about 5 months until I delivered. Good luck!

I wear mine everyday and WOW, I cannot live without it. It helps me keep my back from hurting. Plus, my posture is much better. I totally recommend it and my two other friends who are pregnant need the support.

It is an inexpensive way to help your pain!

    Good luck,
    Jenn

I have been seeing a chiropractor once a week, so I asked for him to research and find a maternity belt that would work best for me. Not only did he do this, he billed it to my insurance...so I didn't pay a penny!! Your ob-gyn may be able to order one or bill one for you even if you do the up front research. It's worth a try! I started wearing mine at 25 weeks, but could have really used this a few weeks before this.

I have one, but I find it makes my upper back ache if I wear it for too long, so it's really sporadic that I wear it :)

I have one and I like it- but I forget to wear it often. It does help when I can remember to wear it.
