Do boys kick harder?

Starting a few days ago, baby A (boy) has been doing these sudden forceful movements. They're not painful (yet) but startling enough so that sometimes I can't help but go "aaa!" (I must look crazy  ) Baby B (girl) never moves like this, although I can feel her more consistently throughout the day. I was talking to my sister, who is also expecting a boy, and she says her little guy does the exact same thing, and she never had her girls kick her that hard, especially so early. So I was wondering if any of you noticed that your boys kicked harder than your girls? I can't help but thinking "what is he doing in there?" I can just imagine his going, Arg! I can't get enough room in here!

My baby a also kicks like crazy. He also likes to punch. My other boy, however, reminds me more of my first daughter. He tends to roll all day and rarely actually kicks or punches. I think it's just a baby difference, not necessarily a gender difference. At least not in my experience. :) It might also be that your daughter is closer to a placenta and can abuse it instead of you (which is what my peri thinks is going on with Baby b.... he's much closer to the placenta location).

And I TOTALLY understand the looking crazy thing. Nothing makes you look more sane than making random pained/surprised faces, random exclamation noises, and staring/talking to your body parts. :) And just wait... now when both of my boys decide to roll at the same time, I end up walking into things or veering off course! So now I'm certain that people think I'm crazy AND drunk! Thank heavens I'm on rest and can't embarass myself too much! :)

    Hugs,
    Dominique

I think it's more of an A vs B thing. I am still not feeling them consistently, but when I do, it always seems to be baby A. Maybe the location has more to do with it?

My baby B is my major kicker. My baby A is very calm, until bedtime! My girls kick more and harder than my son ever did.

My boy always moved more and kicked and punched more often and harder than his twin sister as well as my first-born, also a girl. One of my friends who had a son first and just gave birth to a healthy little girl was at times worried during the 2nd pregnancy b/c the girl was much less active (she didn't know what she was having).
