Do babies weight drop/stay the same after learning to crawl?

    The girls are actually taking in much more formula than before (between 25-30 ounces a day) with three meals almost every day (some days there are only two). However, now that they are much, much more mobile I am not seeing any weight gain.

    Is this normal?

    One of my children actually lost weight between our 9 month and 12 month appointments.

    Yes, it's very normal. :good: My two lost weight between their 9 month appointment and their 12 month appointment and their ped. was not concerned at all. {It wasn't a large weight loss}

    We had some weight gain at this age but as long as they are staying on their curve and the Ped isnt concerned, then I would not be either.

    Very normal. The 'normal' curves actually aren't as steep at that age range because they account for them burning off all those calories.

    Our guys have been crawling really well since a couple of days after their 6mo check up. We just went in for a check-up and some delayed shots at 8 months. Over those two months my most active kiddo has dropped 1lb 8oz and his brother dropped 14oz. I noticed they have slimmed down some but I was surprised at just how much.

    They are still eating 32oz of formula + 8oz of solids a day. The pedi said it was normal for them to plateau and maybe even loose a little weight as they become more active. Since they are both still 19+lbs the pedi wasn't concerned. We will be back at 9months for another check-up so I will be interested to see how they are doing weight wise...
