Our girls are presumed identical... dividing membrane, but only 1 placenta, same blood type, and looks... I'd like to have the test run just so we'll know for sure. What company is good and how accurate are the results? Also, how much is the test? What is the procedure for it?
    Thanks!

We used www.dnasolutions.com at the time it was $99, but recently it went up so says some people on here. However I just checked out the site again and it's back to $99. I was very happy with the company and totally recommend them to you. You do two cheek swabs for each kid.

However that being said if I knew for my twins what you know about your twins. I would not have tested. One placenta means identical!

Post some pictures of the girls here on TS and we'll give you feed back about what type we think they are.

If they truly had only one placenta, they can't be anything but identical. Was their some question about whether it was just one or not? If not, I would save my money!

I agree with pps...if there was one placenta and you're sure there was one, I wouldn't spend the money to test. But, of course, we all do our own thing for piece of mind and so we KNOW. I haven't tested mine yet, but am planning on it as I was told frat but I think they are ID (fused placentas, own sacs, etc, but as they get older, they look much more alike) and most of the folks on her (like 99%) have said they are ID based on polls I have posted in the past.

Post some pics...I love to play frat vs. id.

According to my OB, the lab said that it was just one placenta. But, none of the Drs. have ever come out to say that they are identical... just that we'd need a DNA test to proove it. Even the NICU...

If the lab said it was one placenta, then they are identical. I don't know why your Dr. wouldn't say that they are.

I wouldn't waste the money. Yours are identical (saw the pictures in other thread) plus the fact that there was only one placenta. I've never seen two kids look so much alike. Mine are ID but they were di/di so we got the test.

no, I knew mine were identical, because they were mono-chorionic. They shared one chorion, the outer membrane, but had separate amnions, the inner membrane. If they had separate chorons, then we might have considered the DNA test to see if they were identical.
