I had posted a few months ago asking whether our girls looked id or not. We thought they were frat because they had seperate sacs, seperate placentas and that is what the u/s tech and ob had told us, plus I can TOTALLY tell them apart. We did the test for their 1st birthday to find out for sure and they are.......IDENTICAL! So apparently they are di/di identical twins which are very uncommon. You TS Momma's were right, atleast the 28 of you that guessed ID. I'm glad we had it done so we don't have to wonder anymore. We used DNA Solutions and it cost $99 and took about 2-3wks. So just because they didn't share anything in the womb doesn't mean they can't be id for all those moms out there wondering

How exciting to find out the truth I'm pretty sure I voted ID. Now I have to go and get that test done for $99 before they hike the price up. BTW, they are just adorable.

 

Well, now we share the same story! Its so nice to finally know! I think I remember reading that 20% of ID's have separate everything.

 

Mine are di/di as well...you girls are really making me want to know. I wonder if that stat of 20% is correct. I mean how many other di/di out there think they are fraternal and are really ID.

I just got my results from the same place on thurs - same as you... di/di and ID -- isn't it such a great feeling to know for sure!

also...from what I've been told about the statistics... 30% of all twins are ID... of that 30% only 1/3 of those are di/di ... so like 10% of all twins are di/di ID (someone please correct me if I'm wrong )

Me, too!! I've been telling my husband I've just got to know for sure. As soon as I pay my last payment on my college tuition this semester, I'm taking the dive!!

So cool that you know! Our boys are DI/DI and most think they are ID, but I don't think so.

I just found out last week that my boys are di/di ID's too. It is so nice to finally be able to answer that question.

 

Again... the answer was clear as day but glad you know for absolute sure!!

You are correct. 9% of twins are di-di identicals..

 

I KNOW I voted ID on those two! Thanks for sharing the $99 deal! I've been begging DH to do the $150 one and now I'm going to try again. He thinks they are frat, and I've been mixing them up lately. When I did my last TS poll on it, about 20 people thought they were ID. That still didn't convince DH though. Congrats on finally having an answer! I'm jealous!
