    Hi,

I have a question about Disney and what stroller(s) to bring. We are doing a family trip in March 2012. My girls will be almost 3 when we go. I know we have time but there is now a debate on what stroller(s) to bring. Our choices are my baby jogger city mini or two umbrella strollers. Either can go on the plane for free since we are buying the girls plane tickets. (we confirmed this with airline)

For anyone that has gone to Disney with their kids at that age could you recommend which might be better to bring?

For those that have not seen a citi mini they are not that wide where I don't normally have any issues with getting around in stores.

We are not staying in the park so we will most likely not being going on the Disney shuttles/buses. Basically we would go from the car to the parks.

Any thoughts/advice would be great! Thanks

I vote for your City Mini. We just went to disney in august, my twins were 2.5, and we took our double jogger. SO glad we did. It was so much more comfortable for the kids, not to mention, cupholders were invaluable, the big basket underneath was wonderful we took a change of clothes for all 4 kids, extra diapers, extra waters and juices, threw the sunscreen and hand held fans underneath there too. We had 4 kids, 5 adults, and I had all the "stuff" stuck underneath the stroller. I kept a small backpack diaper bag with me I had 2 diapers, wipes, and their juice cups stuck in.

One thing I will say, they will go thru every single bag you have, so I carried everything in it's bag (one diaper bag, one bag with changes of clothes, one bag with drinks in), and it took them like 15 seconds to glance through it, then I could stuff it underneath the stroller once we were through the bag check.

Thank you I didn't even think about the space to store stuff.

I'm leaning more towards city mini and my mother in law is more for the umbrella strollers. There are 7 adults and my two girls going. I am very close with my mother in law, so i value her opinion and she's not being pushy about but voices her opinion. LOL We both admit we haven't been to disney with 2 almost 3 year olds and we're not really sure what would be better. So, I told her I'd put it on here.

We brought two umbrella strollers with clips. Loved the flexibility (one person could push sometimes, could separate for tight stores and crowds) and loved that I didn't have to be too worried about them if something happened.

Oh, and we had a backpack--worked great. We also drove to the parks. It also let's you separate them if they are bickering or if one doesn't want to do what the other does. My kids were just shy of two as well, and it was perfect. I really can't imagine having had my jogger instead.

Probably either would work... although mine wouldn't have sat in any at 3 :(

We are going next year and I think I am going to get one of those sit and stand strollers. My kids never want to sit at the same time and my thinking is this type might be less cumbersome to maneuver. I will say I have never looked at these strollers so I might change my mind.

Mine didn't have a choice all the time either, if they started wandering off, or throwing a meltdown, they got strapped into the stroller. We still use it quite frequently so they are used to it.

I wanted to mention though, have you got the backpack leashes or harness's?? I have two of these Munchkin Harness's and I love them because they are small enough to throw in the diaper bag, don't take up as much room as the backpack ones do. I put the harness on first thing in the morning, then, if the twins wanted out of the stroller and were being uncooperative about holding an adults hand, we could easily grab the harness strap to keep them from wandering off.

The umbrella strollers would definitely be more versatile and easier to manuever, but the lack of storage space would suck, I didn't want to have to lug enough diapers for a whole day, plus clothes for 4 kids (including rain gear, we got rained on 2 days), plus extra waters and juices...all in a backpack ;) I was very thankful for the baskets under the stroller :)

I have been to disney alot with my girls. First trip was at 18 months old. We took 2 umbrella strollers with the clips. I hated it. It was a pain to move around. I also found it worked better going throuhg the crowds if one person pushed the stroller, separating them into 2 strollers make it harder for the 4 adults to stay together. It was also much harder on the tram from the parking lot, trying to manage 2 kids and 2 strollers vs 2 kids and one stroller. Here is the umbrella stroller we used and a story about the parking lot tram. you can see the stroller with the clips here.
The next few trips we used the combi double stroller. I loved it. Last trip the girsl were 5 and we did the mountain buggy urban double. This was the easest to push, but my basket is broken so didn't relly have the storage. It was not as easy on the buses as the combi. i'm looking foward to our next trip with no stroller.

Hi, we traveled to Florida last year in March the kids were almost 2. We have the City Jogger Double Mini too but decided not to bring it because in Toronto with the airline we used they told us it would have to be put in as luggage as it was too big and we really wanted a stroller all the way to the plane/gate - (every airline has different rules on that. So we bought 2 umbrella type strollers - but spent about $20/each extra and got a fancier one with a basket at the bottom and a drink cup (still only $30 Canadian). The major con was that it was difficult for one person to move both kids in their strollers at once (it was just me and DH with the kids so this was a big issue - with 7 adults it shouldn't be a problem) agree with PP too that it is actually more difficult to move around with 2 and stay together, than it would be with the double. On the pro side, my kids are really different so they often wanted to look at different things/go different places and it was easy to manage that. They were really easy on the plane as we could take them right to the gate, and there was plenty of storage etc. our kids didn't want to sit in them half the time and we didn't mind them running around so we ended up piling bags and stuff in them most the time then just used the in safety situations or when the kids were tired.

I ADORE my citymini and use it a lot still, but for Disneyland a few months ago we opted to rent the Disney umbrella ones so we didn't have to haul the citymini on the tram. The ones provided by Disney are AWESOME. They maneuver easily and my kids really enjoyed being in a single stroller for a change. And as someone else mentioned, it was actually nice (and easier) for us each to push one stroller than trading off.

We took the boys when they were 15 months old and we just used our Jeep umbrella SBS. It worked out great and I don't recommend the 2 strollers. Much easier with just one stroller.
