Dinner time

My twins are only 17 months, but I need help/suggestions for my 3.5 yr old. Supper time is a NIGHTMARE! He wont eat, plays around, talks, screams, doest sit at the table, you name it he does it. I even went backto giving him a sippy cup because he will untentionally spill his milk. I do use a timer, set it for 25 mins, and if he hast eaten anything, supper is done and he goes to bed. This does not seem to phase him. I REALLY REALLY need help and some suggestions here on what else I can do??? Please help!

 

We just let mine be... I don't want any food struggles. If they don't eat, well, there's nothing else until breakfast and they'll go to bed hungry. If they didn't want to sit at the table we'd just take their plate away. Right now if they get up they get one warning (mostly asking if they're done) then their plate is taken away. Some days they eat, some days not.. oh well. I think it's normal for 3 yo.

 

I agree that it is normal, but this is everynight! If it was only once in awhile I really wouldnt care. It doesnt matter what I make, I get "Oh I dont want to eat that!" I refuse to make more then one meal. I am running low on patience.

 

Oh, don't. Just tell him that it's what's for dinner and if he doesn't want it he won't eat until breakfast. I wouldn't even bother with the timer, as soon as he's up, dinner's over for him. Eventually he'll be hungry...
