Dilated 1 cm..is that normal at this point?

I had an appointment with my OB yesterday and I am 1 cm dilated at 34 weeks.
Is it normal to start this early? I can't remember when I started with my first daughter...I think it wasn't until 37 weeks.

Also, if I continue to dilate, does that mean they might deliver the babies earlier?

I walked around 1 cm dialated from 34 weeks and 3 cm dialated from 35 weeks. I was induced at 37.5 weeks. Those bonus centimetres made for a nice, easy labor! Rejoice! Don't worry.

 

I was 1 cm at 34 weeks also.... Im not sure what I am now I should find out tomorrow at my drs apt. When I was pregnant with my singleton I was walking around 6cm .....

 

My Dr is not even checking if im dialated or not. He said that once I hit 34 weeks he will no longer be doing internal exams. ???? Well, I'm 36 weeks now and babies are doing great on the ultrasounds. So I'm not that worried.

I was dialated 3cm at 35 weeks and continued to be that way until I delivered at 36 weeks 1 day.

 

I was dialated 1cm from 32 weeks on and nothing else ever happened. I had to "evict" my two at 39 weeks, so it doesn't mean anything really. Did you ask your OB what they thought? :hug:

 

I didnt dialate with the twins b/c I had a csection at 36 wks..

but with my daughter I was 2 cm for at least 2-3 wks . . The day I delivered her I went in for a routine check and I was 3 cm, I went home and my water was leaking. By the time I got to the hospital I was 5 cm. (that was only 4 days before here due date though)

Im sure a lot of women dialate at least a cm or two within the last 6 wks

 

I was 1 cm from 37 weeks onwards with my first, she came past 41 weeks. With the twins I was 2 cm at 32 and 33 weeks, 3 cm at 34 and 35 weeks, and 4 cm at 36 and 37 weeks ... 4 1/2 cm when I was induced past 38 weeks.

 

I was 3 cm w/ both my oldest two, for 3-4 weeks before their due dates, and both were late (Sage 8 days and Trey 2 weeks). I don't remember them checking w/ Adam or the girlies. But remember that full term is earlier w/ twins, so starting to dilate now at 34 weeks isn't as early as it sounds.

 

I was 2cm at 29 weeks and was put in the hospital until I delivered at 37 weeks. I was 5cm at 35 weeks.

 

Thanks for the responses everyone. I feel better now. We have another appointment on Wednesday so we'll see if things progress at all.

 

I was 1cm from 31 weeks until delivery!

 

I was 1cm dilated at 22 weeks, and by the time I delivered at 28 weeks I was 4cm dilated.
